Are you a chronic overeater? It may not be that your hunger hormone is working overtime, but rather that you’re eating out of habit. A lot of people overeat simply because the food is there – not because they’re actually hungry. So get rid of the visual cues! Instead of eating “family style,” with platters of extra food right on the table in front of you, dish the correct portions onto

your plate and leave the rest of the food in the kitchen. Don’t bring it to the table where you might be tempted to indulge in seconds… or thirds.. Do the same with your snacks. Buy “sometimes” items such as chips and sweets in small packs or individual servings. Or take them out of their regular-size bag, and divide them into portion-controlled servings that you can store in the cupboard, fridge or freezer. This way, you won’t be tempted to down a jumbo-size package while you watch TV or talk on the phone.
