Guest guest Posted April 6, 2008 Report Share Posted April 6, 2008 .... was brought to me by a flat tire! Gaaaahhhhhhhh!! At least I knew about it last night. Well, I had a suspicion last night because it *looked* low. At least lower than the others. Couldn't have done much about it anyway at that hour LOL!! So, today it's RAINING outside (beats the predicted snow) so I trudge out there and sure enough, it's flat. I have a little pump of sorts that I use for the kids' bike tires that runs off the cigarette lighter, ya know, so I put some air in it and came in to look to see who's open today that can repair tires. (( nobody )) Well, all the tire stores are closed, anyway. I remembered there is a gas station that has a car repair section (for tires, oil changes, etc) that I hoped might be a chance of being open and I called and sure enough, they do have a mechanic on duty that can do a tire repair, so I went right over. Only wasted an hour of my day and took $10.something to take care of it. I could walk anywhere I need to go today, but this would have put a serious damper on the morning commute LOL!! So, I am glad to have it taken care of today. I told the guy "I think I found a nail or something, you let me know LOL" and he came back when he was done and said "Close. Huge screw." N-i-c-e! As a nice stress-reliever, I decided to go to lunch. I didn't want to go home and fix lunch, so let's not go there LOL. Well. I should have gone to Taco Joint of some kind and gotten a chicken or fish taco or something healthy (LOL @ healthy, well... it could have been an ok choice).... decided on Mickey D's and got a filet o' fish sandwich, fries and iced coffee. Pay attention, !! Next time, remember to get the "no tartar sauce" version. That just cost me 3 points and I don't really care for tartar sauce. Trust me, it isn't that bad to eat the dry sandwich. If I want something on it bad enough, I could substitute something else, but I don't like tartar on that sandwich, so why waste the points?? I only ate half the fries, but just wanted them today. I don't know if it was the salt, or the grease (maybe both) that I wanted (needed?) today, but I just wanted them. We skipped pizza last night and had dinner at home, so I don't feel "guilty" over this mini-splurge. Ok. So we have 9 pts for the sandwich and 4 for the fries and then the iced coffee is 4.5 points, so I used 17.5 pts for lunch. Well within my daily allowance, so I am not too concerned. Note to self: do not be extremely surprised, or otherwise, if the scale shows a gain over the next few days. Sometimes it will show up overnight, sometimes it is a day or two down the road, as you all know. I am also going to be WI two days early this week on Thurs vs. Sat <wink> so I don't have as many days to "work it off" So. Anyway. I could do a workout video and I still may, but I really don't want to do anything today other than sit around in warm jammies and watch movies. We'll see who/what wins. "IF" I were to do the equivalent of 3 miles, that is 45-60 minutes and 6000 steps. So far, I have "nothing" LOL!! You all know me well enough by now (and it *is* only noon here)... I have time to make this up today. Have a great day.
