Guest guest
Jay will talk me off the ledge (if necessary) this next week, as he always does. His actual words to me in the past: "You CAN'T quit Curves, Kel, you have had too much success" But, I think I am getting bored. HELP!! Seriously. I look at how often I find an excuse out of it and may be due to boredom now. I know it isn't a financial decision, because if it were, the minute I said so, he would hand over a voided check and have the monthly fee drawn from his bank account vs mine (I'm on auto check payment). But, what I am looking at is this: work has offered us a gym membership (they don't pay for it, but we get a huge deal on it) and at the club, they *have* a circuit gym similar to Curves for the ladies. They also have all the other gym amenities (sp?) weights, bikes, ellipticals, indoor track, etc. They have a pool and have a daily water aerobics class that is in the evenings, so I could do this year-round (my only other option is 8-weeks during the summer at the outdoor city pool). The outdoor pool option is also only available to me one day a week. I pay $32.something for Curves. My family (children) cannot benefit from this. I would pay $29.something for this gym option through work for myself. It's only like $5-10 extra to add your family. The one thing that I am holding out for is my Curves is supposed to get the Curves Smart machines this month. Those are like having a personal trainer because they give you green lights when you are working the correct way and hard enough. If not green, then you get yellow and maybe red (not sure on the red). It will be a $25 set up fee (from what I have heard) and maybe $5 more a month for this. THIS is where I am looking at the financials of it. I would LOVE the option of having something that I could take my boys to. Not that they *need* it - trust me, they get a lot of exercise. But, it would be cool as an option for spending more time with the younger boys that live with their father. Curves is open Mon-Fri 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noonFitness gym, I am not sure of the hours - this might be the deciding factor. Anyway, just had to toss this out there, since it's on my mind today. in WA310/249.0/170 (-61 total, 79 to go, 9 from half-way point) I'm not telling you it's going to be easy, I'm telling you it's going to be worth it! -Art Planning your summer road trip? Guest guest
That was my situation hubby couldn't enjoy curves with me and we did the GYM deal in Feb and it has been great we can vary our workout so we don't get bored and we have the benefit of having trainers nearby that we can grab if we need some help. ask about personal training at your gym some gyms offer a certain amount of personal training sessions with a package and I do have to say that working with a trainer is worth every penny I can tell such a diffrence as compared to working out myself. Guest guest
Well, let me throw my 2 cents in for what it is worth. I went the gym route because I wanted to be able to take my kids with me and let them do whatever while I worked out. I am now thinking I would have rather joined curves. The kids only want to do what i do and my son can't come in the weight room. You have to be 16. I don't want to spend all day in the pool like my son and daughter do. So, we ended up paying $50 for a month membership and never used it because of the above. I am now thinking of joining curves because I *need* to do something for me. So, here is *another* side of what can happen. Weigh your options carefully. ABrite@... wrote: Jay will talk me off the ledge (if necessary) this next week, as he always does.
