WHERE IS YOUR SCALE?

Monday, 07 April 2008

Where do you keep your bathroom scale? Do you keep it, well...in the bathroom? Or maybe you keep it in the kitchen? The bedroom? The living room? Hey, don't laugh at my questions! Several years ago, when I was doing my surprise Deal-A-Meal infomercial visits, you know, the ones where I would show up unannounced at someone's home? Well, at one lady's house I visited, she really did keep her bathroom scale in the kitchen. No, seriously, there it was parked right next to her stove!

Oh, you would never keep your scale in the kitchen, would you? So, I'll ask again, where is it? Maybe your scale lives in the closet. Or could it even be hidden some place in your garage? (Hey, you can pretend you don't even have a scale if you keep it there!) Well, hide your scale where you may but, believe me, there is one truth about it that you just can't "hide" from. And it's that your scale tells you the truth...about your weight! (Maybe that's why some people keep their scales so out of sight!)Now you know there are certain "rules of the scale" to follow, don't you? For instance, the only good time to weigh yourself, really, is in the morning, not in the afternoon or evening. And you should never, ever weigh yourself soon after you have just eaten.Get up in the morning, do some stretches, drink some water, go to the bathroom and then do your weigh-in. Now write that weight down in your journal.

I want you to remember the other weigh-in rules, too. You have to stand up straight on the scale. You can't lean forward, backward, left or right on it. You don't want to play with those numbers! You have to plant both feet firmly on that scale...and I mean both feet! Hey, you're not a flamingo! Here we are, already into April and that means one quarter of 2008 has passed us by. At the beginning of this year, I challenged you to lose five pounds-a-month. And if you took my challenge seriously then you could have already lost 15 pounds during these first three months of the year. And well...have you?Hey, the second quarter of 2008 is underway. On April 1st, did you commit yourself to work even harder at meeting our Five-Pounds-A-Month Weight-Loss Challenge? Are you on your way to losing five pounds this month?

I'll ask again...where is your scale? Did you get on it on April 1, uh...no fooling? Did you write that number down in your journal?I again challenge you to lose five pounds this month. If your scale is in the garage or in the closet someplace, get it out and get on it! And please, don't keep your scale in the kitchen because when you're cooking, you're smelling all of that delicious food and I think even the smell of those foods alone can put a few extra pounds on you! LOL.The bathroom is the best place for your scale. And be sure you don't place it on the carpet either. It should be placed on a hard, even surface so you'll get the most accurate reading possible. So hasn't today's message made you just want to run and get on your scale? I hope so! Love,
