Guest guest
SEEING THE DIFFERENCE Friday, 21 March 2008 As you know, many people try to lose weight thinking they can do it without exercising. I mean, they cut calories, they starve themselves, they take diet pills, all in an effort to lose weight. And you know that when you do that sort of stuff to lose weight, despite any success you may achieve, the weight you lose always ends up coming right back. I have to admit, for years, I tried to lose weight without doing eve one, yes, even one jumping jack! Flapjacks, sure but jumping jacks? No!It wasn't until I moved to Los Angeles that I began combining workouts with my healthy eating. When I opened Slimmons, over 30 years ago, I began reading up on toning and how it could actually help change the shape of my body. And at that point in my life, believe me, I'd do anything to change the shape of my body. So I began lifting weights. I started out with light weights, at first. I tailored my workout routines to tone my biceps, triceps, chest and back. And I did a lot of leg work, too. I used ankle weights, starting out with one-pound weights and worked my way up to five pounds. And after doing this for about four months, I began noticing something different about myself when I looked in the mirror. I began seeing actual muscles in my legs. And boy, did I ever like that sight! I was seeing definition in my legs that was never there before. Now you know, all of us ex-fatties hate what happens to our stomachs when we lose weight. And the only way to get some definition in your abs area is to do crunches. And oh, I know, many of you don't even like that word. But abs-work and crunches are a real must if you want to see your stomach muscles really take shape. And if you do those crunches faithfully...they will! And once you see the differences taking shape in your body, you'll want to continue seeing that vision of the new you coming true. And the only way your body's shape to get where you want it is to continue doing your toning work.At Slimmons, I teach toning in every one of my classes. We lift lighter weights to build our muscles endurance then lift heavier weight to build muscle strength. And over the years at Slimmons, I have seen many of my students basically reinvent their bodies right before my very eyes...and theirs! I mean, when they look in the mirror to do their toning, you can just see the self-confidence in them when you look into their eyes. Are you seeing the difference? Are you toning? If you're not then, please, start a toning routine today. In many of my workout videos and DVDs, I do toning and abs-work. If you've been lazy and not going to your gym, go back and start lifting those weights again. And soon, you'll be writing me about the differences you're seeing in your body!P.S. I hope you all have a blessed Good Friday today!Love,
