WANNA BUY A BOTTLE?

Wednesday, 05 March 2008

I've just come up with a new formula in my laboratory at Slimmons. I've been working on a project for about a year and now I'm ready to tell you all about it. Oh, it's a little expensive but I think you'll agree that it's well worth the price. My new formula is called I. W., that is...Instant Willpower! All you have to do is add a teaspoon of the liquid to an 8-ounce glass of water, stir and drink up. And when you've drank it down to that last drop, your body, mind and soul are instantly filled with...willpower!Like I told you, it's a costly formula. Yep, we're talking $9,000 for a 30-day supply. And what's that I hear...are you laughing? Okay, fine. But, believe me, there are lots of people who would shell out nine grand, easy, for a bottle of I.W. in a heartbeat! But come on, we all know that genies don't come in a bottle, don't we? (Sorry Barbara Eden.) But then...neither does willpower.First, let's discuss just what is willpower. Well, it's the power to make intelligent decisions about our lives. Wow! That was easy, wasn't it? Yeah, sure, it sounds easy but you know it really isn't, don't you? For instance, let's say you're passing by a bakery and you spot a plateful of glazed donuts in the shop window. You think how long it's been since you had one. You remember having a warm glazed donut with your grandfather as you walk into the bakery and order a few of them for yourself. You eat them with fond memories of grandpa filling your head as those warm donuts are filling your tummy! Well, while those memories may be great for your mind, the calories from those donuts are certainly not great for your hips! Okay, so you're at dinner with a group of your friends. Everyone orders an entree and you all have an assortment of appetizers brought to the table. Those plates of treats keep passing right in front of you as you observe those cute little hourderves. You begin thinking that you have just got to try one of those, then one of those on that plate and...oh-oh! Careful there, my friends! You remember eating some of those same appetizers at your sister's wedding a few years back. And when you knocked back enough of those little treats, the only thing you got was a fat back! In both of these instances, willpower was not used at all. A temptation came along and you did just like Eve did with that apple, back in the Garden of Eden.In today's "garden of temptation," can you walk past that bakery shop and say...No, I'm not going in? Can you go out to dinner with your friends and say no to those appetizers? Can you open your refrigerator and say no to all of the leftovers lurking there? Well, of course you can but it'll take some willpower! No matter what temptations come your way, you have to keep in mind the new healthy journey you're on. And you must stay committed to staying on program...no matter what.So now that I've told you what willpower is, shall I tell you how to get it? No, it's not in that $9,000 bottle of elixir I told you about earlier. You get willpower by practicing, by using the will and the power that's already inside you. And yes...it's there!Use that power to say no to the cheesecake. Use it to say no to the onion rings or the deli sandwich at midnight. Use it to say no any time temptation rears it's ugly head in your life. No, no, no...NO! And the more times you say no, the more you'll watch those extra pounds slip away from your body.

How will you use your willpower today on this beautiful Wednesday?Love,
