Guest guest
you mean nathan, lol, anyways no i havent heard yet, but should be soon, usually only takes a few weeks to get the written reports etc. right now im waiting on audiology at our AEA, becausue UIHC audiology says nathan would benefit from a personal fm system to help him hear better, he has mild to mod hearing loss, and we are still fighting to get funds for a trike for him, hopefully church might be able to help us out some. as for the behavior stuff he is coming along nicely! They are really good in helping us with new ideas for behavior modification, and tx's. I know his immunologist talked to our gen doc, aobut nathan, he just got done taking clendamyacin for an ear infection last week and now hes got a horrible cold, he has been saying more and more words lately dr jim! its been really exciting, i cant wait until he gets his personal fm system, think how much more he will hear appropriately, and apply it to his speech, im very excited, if our AEA would just get their butts in gear, they were only going to do a school trial or something, but UIHC says for home and school, cause, he blares the tv and computer or holds his gameboy up to his ears about half the time, especially if sick, wich is every few weeks if not more. shawna. >From: smilinggail@... >Reply- > >Subject: Re: im back! >Date: Sat, 7 Apr 2001 09:56:19 EDT > >In a message dated 4/6/01 10:39:10 PM Eastern Daylight Time, >okieleah@... writes: > ><< a, welcome back..hope all is well with you, nathan and rest of the > gang...we have been discussing pictures and stuff and ieps and so on.... > welcome back...leah >> > >a, >I wondered where you have been. Guest guest
Wecome back Tammy, I'm counting on you to do well, because when I have my knee surgery next year and will miss some workouts for awhile, I want to be encouraged to get back by seeing others do it, too. Guest guest
Welcome back, Shaye I wish I had a husband that knew so much about computers. My husband can barely use one so I wouldn't waste my time even asking him a question about computers. Congrats on your husbands new cast. Boy, he must be elated to be able to get in the bath tub. You tend to forget all the things you CAN'T do when you have a cast on. I broke my arm skiing when my oldest daughter was only a year old. Boy, you talk about frustration!! Trying to get ready for work everyday, getting a baby dressed, packed, and to the babysitter's, etc. And those were the years when I used the hot rollers in my hair every morning. I must have looked like a real mess by the time I got to work!! The thing I remember most when I got it off was how bad the cast smelled from sweating inside. Maybe nowadays they make them differently so they don't have that problem. Im back! Im back online. PC is fixed. YEAH!!! Apparently I had 8 capacitors that were leaking. Hubby tried to fix it at work but he dint have the right size so we got another motherboard. He then will order the right size caps and fix that board for a backup. Anyway it was one of those fiasco days. Hubby got his cast off, new xray, and now he has the walking cast for a while. First month he has to wear it at all times except for taking a bath. Cant drive and can only put a little bit weight on it. I cant tell you how bummed he is that he cant hop on his motorcycle. Oh well. Then after that its a lot of " we'll see how it goes " but he might get to sleep with out this cast on too. Well at least he can now take a bath. Ok now, I know some of you spoke up and said you were comming to the gathering but if you dont mind, can you post again? I'll be taking names. Glad to be back online. Guest guest
Thanks , What he really really wants to do is get on his bike. But yes a bath is a great thing!!! He has some " molting " to do LOL. I think they make the casts different now than they use to. its layers of cotton with a fiberglass shell over it. I dont think they are as heavy as the old plaster ones. I can imagine breaking an arm would be worse because you do soo many things with your arms.
