Guest guest
Dear Members, With reference to S. Gomathi.... Occupationally or Medically acquired infections are one of the major concerns in care to positive people. Universal precautions are being and need be taken while dealing with any infectious diseases. How do we see airport authorities wearing masks in SARS environment? HIV need not be the different. Adequate and timely reporting of occupational exposure and PEP is must. I suggest to utilize, if available in India and otherwise develop insurance packages that covers such risks. (Such schemes are available in South Africa, as far as my knoweldge goes.) Care centers can have group insurance og health proffesionals. This will motivate few more to join our task. Protection from such infection is essential as we have handfull of dedicated (!) health professionals serving the cause and we need them for deperately. There need to find better and practical ways to fight stigma. Mayur E-mail: trivedimayur76@...
Guest guest
Dear Members, Talking of incentives, one that could promote more people voluntarily testing after being counselled , is the issue of I-D cards which carries a subsidy or near -free treatment with ARVdrugs. This was suggested by an young friend of mine whose analytical depth and forward thinking I appreciate.
