Guest guest
OK. So today was Bloomsday Training week 1 (1 mile). It was cool - there were a lot of people there, some that are in *great* shape and run the course and some (like me) in not-so-great shape that plan to walk or wog parts of it. I don't know how many years this has been going on (Bloomsday 30-plus years, training clinic, who knows) but there were people that have been to the clinics before and then like me, first timers. So, for about 15 min they have a "speaker" talking about various healthy aspects of training and then we warm up and stretch and do our course assignment for the week LOL!! That was good - this is basically what I wanted/needed to hear: how to properly warm up and stretch for this. Walking, you do your own warm up/cool down.... but with wogging, you can get injured if you don't do this properly. I only planned to walk the mile today, since I have been DEAD since Wednesday. OhMyGosh I kid you not. I get home 5:30 ish, feed the kid(s) and I swear I was in bed by 6:30-7 p.m. So, I walked it in my typical 17-18 min. Wasn't in dead last place, so that was a relief. I *finally* went Thurs a.m. and got some "new" (aka not old, dead and date expired) allergy relief. Got the generic Zyrtec. Wal-zyrc? LOL. I seriously don't know what they call their half-breed generic version, but you get my drift. Now, mind you, in the past I would have to go pay $15 office visit to get an RX to pay another probably $15 for the prescription, which if you are lucky, is a 30 day supply. Now, I go for what I can get the best brand OTC LOL so for a mere $20 you too can have a 45-day supply. Right on. I don't think that is what killed me Thurs/Fri night and caused the need to go to bed. This week at WW we talked about Obstacles in the Road of Weight Loss. They have different levels: speed bump, pot holes, outta gas, etc and I figured, according to their definitions, I could have been considered "outta gas" this week, but not linked to boredom like they had listed. Really. I am not bored with doing "this" - I think this week I was on a pit stop. Sleeping all the time, eating the rest of the time. Eating and no exercise. What does that ADD UP TO?? Yes, you guessed it, dear friends, that is another INCREASE in my graph this week. 1 lb this week. Well. I was going to be ticked off for a minute until I remembered. Red Lobster. Birthday Pie for mom. NO exercise to speak of: 2, maybe 3 days' worth in there... definitely not enough water. In spite of a 1 lb gain, this was a successful week! It could have been 4 or 5. So, this *will* be a better week. Exercise goal/schedule for the week: Sunday - walk 2-3 miles Monday - Curves Tuesday - wog (2 miles) Wednesday - Curves Thursday - wog (3 miles) Friday - Curves Saturday - training clinic (2 miles) on my own (2 miles) Menu planning will be next. in WAGoal for Bloomsday 5/4/08: 275.4/252.6/225.4 310/252.6/170 (-57.4 total, 12.6 from half-way point) Only I can change my life.
