Guest guest
That's FLY speak, if you don't know, for Parade of Daily Accomplishments. OK. Here's the deal: 250.2 (nekkid/home) 251.2 (clothed/WW) - so a 1-lb difference - not bad!! I basically wanted to know the difference between the two scales. This is a .6 "official" loss for me this week. I'll accept that. I've been rather out of control eating-wise this week, following Easter. So, today was supposed to be training week #3 and was slated for 3 miles with the clinic and 2 miles on my own. You caught the past tense of that..."WAS", correct? What happened? SNOW and ICE happened! We woke up to 3-4" of new snow this morning and a sheet of ice on the roads. Sure, I could have tried to wog wearing boots today, or strapped on my ice cleats, but I need to take care of myself and not risk falling. Just not worth it. PLUS out of a team of 22-24 at work, I am the ONLY one that has not been sick with the creeping crud. I don't know what it is they all have. It's some cross between a cold/pneumonia/bronchitis and flu from hell. Seriously. I am the only one that has not gone out sick this past month. The ailments I have had are allergies, and I stand by that. The couple of days I have been sneezing or coughing/runny eyes, I take my Zyrtec-wannabe drug and am fine within an hour or so.... Anyway, I cannot risk getting sick so close to travel time, so I chose to not go to the clinic today. Actually, to be honest, I just wanted to stay in bed and skip WW this morning, too! That was because I knew I would have to scrape and shovel to get out and go. Not my idea of fun for Saturday, so I wanted to roll over and go back to sleep. Then. Then, I remembered how out of control I have felt with my eating this week and I knew if I skipped WW it would just spiral further out of control this next week. I don't want and cannot have that. So, I showered, dressed and went to WW ..6 loss this week, which is good, really. I am happy. "They" (WW) says .5-2 lbs loss a week is good after your initial few weeks. I just don't feel I earned or deserved it. OK. Maybe eating-wise I didn't. Exercise-wise, I am 6 for 7 this week (thank God) so I am happy with myself. Obviously, the exercise countered the eating efforts. I needed to go to the Fed Ex office to pick up a package/envelope. Needed an in-person signature and I know I will miss them all week when they attempt again, then I would have to go there. So anyway, I have an hour between WW and Fed Ex opening, so what to do? Go to McD's?? LOL!! Nope. I went to Curves!! Yay me!! Then, after going to Fed Ex I *did* go to McD's, but only for a yogurt parfait and hot cocoa!! That was a tough decision to not go for a hash brown or McGriddles - I love those!! But no, I stuck with the yogurt and cocoa and came home to have sausage and oatmeal. Turkey sausage.... mmmmmm!! 5 miles x 15 minutes = 75 minutes of exercise5 miles x 2000 steps = 10000 steps So, those are the numbers I need to hit today (in my mind) to make up for missing the wogging: 75 minutes/10000 steps Shoveling = 20 minutesCurves = 30 minutes** something = 25 minutes Right now, I have 6847 on the step counter, so I need roughly 3000. I think I will jog on the trampoline or do an exercise video. Sheesh. Goals: can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em!! LOL!! I know, I know.... I could just cut my losses this week and take the 50 minutes I have already done, but why? It won't help me in any way, shape or form. I hope you are all having a great weekend!! I'm getting caught up, slowly but surely!! in WAGoal for Bloomsday (www.bloomsday.org) 5/4/08: 275.4/251.2/225.4 (needed: 5.16/week) ** I am NOT declaring defeat yet for this goal because it is two-fold: lose 50 lbs before the race from last year's stats AND be able to "run" part of this year's race, so I will have to evaluate and see how much of the "bet" I have "lost" on race day (wink) 310/251.2/170 (-58.8 total, 11.2 from half-way point) I'm not telling you it's going to be easy, I'm telling you it's going to be worth it! -Art Create a Home Theater Like the Pros.
