Hmmm. I was definitely positive on the VCS test. My biggest health issues

right now are an 8 month long Crohns flare and MCS (Multiple Chemical

Senstivity). Both are greatly limiting my life and ability to work.

The question for me is whether I was damaged by biotoxins or

solvents/chemicals. I could have had exposure to both. The first big

exposure was to mercury. Then toxic fumes from a garbage dump fire in

Mexico. Then 9/11. But my MCS did not get much worse until after a big flood

in the apt above me which caused my entire ceiling to come down (with all

the water). It was repaired within 2 weeks and the thought of mold never

crossed my mind. I did not make that connection until recently and the flood

was in 4/03. When it got hot and humid here this summer, all the closets in

my apartment started smelling very moldy. Since last summer I have become

very mold sensitive.

I am hoping I have biotoxin illness because that at least gives me the hope

of full or almost full recovery. I believe with chemical injury the damage

can be permanent and can be passed onto offspring.

Shoemaker gives over 30 tests...but luckily I just found out I can do most

of them through Quest which my insurance covers. The HLA is the most

expensive one--$409--but I definitely want to do it if it is the one that

tells me if I am gene-susceptible to mold.

I will let you all know what happens in this very interesting mystery.

On VCST if you are positive-- you are super ill. If negative, it does not

rule

out anything. Better results done manually if available.
