WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

People often ask me, ", aren't you just plain-old tired of traveling around the country and teaching all of those classes? Aren't you tired of working out everyday for an hour and fifteen minutes?"And the answer to both those questions is no. No, no, no...NO! Hey, exercise lives inside me now. And as I told you yesterday, I'm able to set my emotions free when I sweat.I was thinking the other day, what would have happened if I'd never come to Los Angeles and opened up my exercise studio? I wondered what I would look like today. How would I feel? How much would I weigh?

I mean, had I not opened Slimmons and learned to love exercise, I'm sure I would be in pretty bad physical shape today. I would have continued to be lazy, eat too much and burn too few calories each day. Gosh, I'm sure I would have weighed my highest weight ever by now. Oh, those were some scary thoughts I had, trying to imagine the state of my life today without exercise. Oh, thank you Lord, for making me open up Slimmons!Now I know many of you did not open your own exercise studios. And I know many of you have not worked out everyday for the past 30 years. (Give or take a day off for a holiday!)I know you have not been traveling around the country teaching classes all of these years, either And I know some of you reading this message right now are still not exercising. And the big question I have for you today is....What are you waiting for?Are you waiting for a heart attack, a stroke, cholesterol problems or high blood pressure? What are you waiting for? Aches and pains in your body or having to take lots of medications? Well, you know...your wait should be over!

I want you to look at what your inactivity has done to you. Many of you write and tell me that your backs ache 24/7. Others complain about their knees, their ankles or their feet. Many of you tell me that you have no energy and how tough it is for you to get through the day. Really, isn't it shameful what some of us put our bodies through?If you have a bicycle and you haven't ridden it in thirty years, can you imagine what it would look like and what kind of shape it would be in? Or, say, you didn't wash your hair for thirty years. Why you'd have dreadlocks from here to Hawaii!

Look, I know that if you haven't exercised for a long time, you may be a little scared about beginning an exercise routine. Maybe you have thoughts that you will never be able to do it. Well, gosh, I had those same kind of thoughts at first, too. I only got better at this exercise thing because of all of the many years I've been exercising now. So let's stop the wait and let's just start!Begin by walking around the block today. Put in one of my workout DVDs and dance a little. Do some stretching. Do whatever you can do that first time out, whether it's for two minutes or ten. But if you continue, if you keep on trying, you'll surprise yourself. Because in time, you'll work your way up to a full one-hour workout!The wait is over. So-o-o-o, ready...set and...start!Love,
