Guest guest
Tricks to Help Ease Your Allergy Symptoms What do you think of when you hear the word “Spring?†If you said warm weather, blooming flowers, and massive allergy attacks, I have tricks that’ll help ease your allergy symptoms, courtesy of Hearst Publications. Have some citrus. Just three weeks of eating citrus can slash levels of the allergy-inducing compound histamine by almost 40%! To get the full benefit, eat half a grapefruit or one medium orange daily. That suggestion comes from Allan Magaziner, author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Living Longer and Healthier. Drink green tea. According to USDA researchers, green tea’s powerful antioxidants hinder the body’s production of allergy-triggering free radicals. How much should you drink? Dr. Nadeau, author of A Revolutionary Eating Plan for Optimum Health, suggests drinking two cups daily. For maximum antioxidant concentration, you should steep the tea for at least three minutes. Do your laundry. One of the reasons you’re sneezing could be your clothing. That’s because irritants like dust mites and pet dander can cling to fabric. The fix? Do a load of laundry! There are special “allergy-free†detergents you can buy – but washing your clothes in bleach will do the same thing by killing any allergy-causing particles. One more way to fight allergies: Wash your hair before bed. Your hair attracts pollen particles because it carries an electric charge and if you go to bed with all that pollen in your hair, there’s a good chance you’ll be breathing it in and sneezing all night. So give your hair a quick shampoo before bed. What if you prefer to shampoo your hair in the morning? Then try this: Lightly spritz your hair with hairspray before bed. The sticky spray will ensure the pollen stays stuck to your head – so it won’t come off your hair and float towards your nose and mouth. in WA310/252/170 (-58 total, 82 to go, 12 from half-way point) Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
