Guest guest
You know the old line - it's not what you eat between Halloween and New Years, it's what you eat between New Years and Halloween? My sister and I generally splurge on breakfast after WW Saturday morning. Now, by then, it is after 9AM, and we ARE truly hungry. But, it kind of sets me up for "Saturday is a free day" and then maybe Sunday, too. And then Monday, well, you're so busy, getting back to work.... we can all see where this is going. Then on Friday, I try to eat as little salt as possible and I always struggle with dinner on Friday, knowing I weigh in in 12 hours. A lot of this is rationalization or excuses. However, I think I need to take a good look at how to have a generous breakfast on Saturday without blowing the whole weekend. By the time we get out of the meeting, I will have not eaten for about 14 hours, so sausage and hashbrowns look pretty good; my body is looking for the most calories the quickest way. I need to figure out how to load up without porking out. Maybe a dish of fruit, MORE WATER. I love breakfast potatoes. I don't cook potatoes at home anymore, or rarely, because my husband can't eat them. An Irish girl without potatoes is like a day without sunshine. This could have been a deal-breaker if we were only engaged at the time - my mom said, wouldn't it just be easier to get another husband? So, I can't see myself giving them up. But, I don't need 3 or 4 sausages. At home, when hubby cooks breakfast, I get ONE. Enough to savor the flavor but not excessive. Most places we go have "healthy option" menus, or multigrain breads and pancakes. I need to look at these options.
