SMUDGES

The favorite room for me in my house is my kitchen. (Hey, wouldn't you know?) My second favorite room in the house is my bathroom.

I have a beautiful floor-to-ceiling window in my bath that is, I'd say, a little "Walt-Disney-ish." It's very big and I have the most breathtaking view of the hills, trees and sky of Los Angeles from that window.

I was in my bathroom the other day and noticed there were some smudges on the panes of glass. So after mixing a solution of vinegar and Windex, I got a ladder and climbed up on it to clean those smudges right off. While I was wiping away, I got to thinking.

See, we are like windows. And in our case, the smudges are the things we have been through in our lives that have not worked out for us. And when there are too many smudges on our window panes, we cannot see out. Those smudges get in the way of us seeing our goals and dreams.

You didn't graduate high school and you feel that's why you never made it in life. Smudge! Your marriage didn't work out. Smudge! You lost your job after being employed at the same company for a very long time. Smudge! You had a nasty fight with your sister a while back and you're still not speaking to her. Smudge! And the smudges go on...We all have smudges on the windows of our lives. And maybe that's one of the reasons some of you have not been able to lose the weight, once and for all. So today, it's time to clean up those smudges! That's right, you need to bring out the ladder, your cleaning solution and begin the rubbing process. The Windex symbolizes the hope you have to reach your goal. The vinegar symbolizes the strength you need in order to reach that goal. And the towels you rub the smudges off with represent the wiping away of those unpleasant moments from your past.

You didn't finish school? Okay, forget it. Your marriage is over? Well, please don't relive it...over and over again everyday of your life. Your job is done? You'll find a new one but now you have to move on. Make up with the sister you fought with...be the bigger person.And once you keep rubbing that glass the right way, you'll start seeing your goals and your dreams more clearly.Start rubbing away those smudges from your...today!Love,
