Guest guest
WISH I COULD! Sunday, 04 May 2008 Our ship will dock early in San Pedro this morning, the Port of Los Angeles. I get up very early and like to sit outside on my balcony and think about the week we just spent together. I ask myself so many questions:Did I give them enough motivation? Did I give enough time to each person? Were my tank-tops cute enough? Do they really understand their portions better? Did they make some new friends in our group? Oh, the questions go on-and-on in my head. I just wish I could spend one more week on the ship with everyone. Another week of fun exercise classes. Another week of making healthy choices at meal time. Another week of fun seminars to help fill them with...life. Another week of laughs and yes...some tears.Knock, knock, knock! In a little while, people will be knocking at my door to say their good-byes. My Cruise To Lose staff members will begin to come by first. I love that time we spend together to talk about the events of the past week. Later that morning, many of my cruisers who know where my room is will begin stopping by to say their good-byes. We'll have one last laugh before all heading home. And then around 10 this morning, I'll get off the ship, get back on the bus and head for home. Wow, I'm taking so many wonderful memories back with me and so many great stories. I have to tell you that I'm so impressed with the people who cruise with me. I learned that many of them have been through so much, both physically and emotionally.Sometimes when they tell me their stories, my mouth simply drops open because it's sad to hear that so many sad things have happened to just one person. And on the bus ride home, I'll spend a moment in my own private zone, saying my prayers for all of the people in our group. I pray that they're all going home with a renewed sense of hope. I pray that they will be able to practice at home this week, the lessons they've learned while on the cruise. Back home, there'll be no one to cut up their fruit in the morning for them, like our waiters often did on the ship. No, they'll now have to do it for themselves. They'll have to turn their living rooms and bedrooms into their own little Taj Mahal theaters to get that exercise in. And I hope they'll E-mail each other and stay in touch. I hope that the friendships many of them have made on the Cruise To Lose will last a lifetime! When I get to the gate of my house, Hattie and Dolly will be waiting for me by the front door. And I can't wait to give them big hugs, kisses and tell them all about our fun week at sea. Then I'll get to work on my laundry and get ready for the upcoming week ahead. I hope you all enjoyed reading my messages this week from the Carnival Pride. Maybe you'll get to cruise with us all one day yourself!Love,
