Guest guest
LOL! My body hates me (legs). Socks: ca-ching! Those things are a must-have for racers. Walking or running. I have NO new blisters on my feet and the pre-existing conditions (blisters I already had) did not get further injured. Impressive. I am so so soooo glad I stopped and listened to that dude's speel LOL!! I know, I know. You are all excited for the stats. First. NO I did not finish in my 1:50:00 wished for time. I did not even finish in under 2 hrs. BUT I am not looking at the negatives. I have lost what, 26 lbs from last year and I still shaved time off my finish, so I am a winner! I'm not positive where on those scanner mats your time actually starts and stops but I am looking at 2:04:something for my time until they post the numbers. I'll update you all then with the official numbers. 2006 was 2:32:10, which averaged out to 20:23 per mile2007 was 2:17:36, which was an average pace of 18:36 per mile2008 ~~ 2:04:something = 17:15?? It's a PR (personal record) I think more than a lack of adequate training for this due to such cold weather this past few months, was the heat today. It's not like we were able to build up our tolerance to 70 degrees! And, with 50000-plus people, some times it just isn't safe to try to run LOL!! Next year's goal (yep, trust me, Spokane is already planning for Bloomsday 2009, May 3rd is a mere 363 days away). Anyway, next year, I will strive to finish under 2 hrs. My goal will still be that 1:50:00!! And, I should be able to lose 50 or so more lbs in that amount of time!! (( 5 lbs a month would be 60 lbs less of me )) The bet with ds? Oh yeah, you can bet he mentioned that today. Darned kids never forget! I'll pay up half of what I bet him, because IMHO I fulfilled half of the bet!! I lost half the pounds and I was able to wog part of this to shave time off my finish. I doubt I will place a bet with him for next year's race, though. I'll be back later. I need to shower and change clothes and maybe take a nap before I come back and check on the posts. Happy day! in WA310/250.6/170 (-59.4 total, 80.6 to go, 10.6 from half-way point) Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
