Guest guest
>I was up to a constant 3.1 mph You people must have really long legs to be able to walk this fast! I was so proud when I was finally able to get it up to 2.2 mph for a few minutes (after owning the treadmill 8 years) and Henry, 24 years old and at 6', says the best *he* can do is a smidgen over 3 mph. My stubby little legs just *can't* go that fast! Sue in NJ

My stubby LOL.... Sue!! I am tall at 5'10" but I have always walked fast the one part of my dad's type A personality that I got. That and I HAVE to be on time when I am going some place... oh yeah and certian drivers just bug the crap outta me!! My mom on the other hand is laid back and easy going..... like I am when it comes to keeping up with the house work and so on... I guess I have a split personality! LOL..... Anyhow... yep I was doing 3.2 for a bit today, but most of it was 3.1. I do the "hills" program where you go 0 incline for a few minutes, then 2% for a few minutes, back to 0, and then to 4% and back to 0, back to 2, 0,4, 0, 2, 0, 4 and so on... you get the picture. I did 1.42 miles in 28 minutes today. I am slowly trying to increase both speed/distance and length of time. a
Guest guest
Great Job! From: Sue in NJ <sue_in_nj@...>Subject: Re: weigh in100-plus Date: Wednesday, July 9, 2008, 2:29 PM >> This weeks weigh in has me down 1.8 lbs but still up 4.8lbs from mylow.I'm going up and down the same 2-3 pounds the past week, I really shouldjust stop weighing in until the heat breaks again. I'm purposely eatingsaltier foods and drinking mroe water because of the heat and I *know*that's where those pounds are coming from.>(yes sue I *was* running a low fever when I was at the> Dr's) and what not.Not that I'm glad you had a fever, but glad you have a sane doctor whoactually treated you. *not* treating sinus infections seems to be allthe rage because so many bacteria strains are now geting resistant tothe antibiotics.> I am planning on starting in again with the> exercise on Monday, back to journaling everything again.Well, I'm way behind yet again so I guess when I catch up to Monday(It's now Wed) I'll see how you're doing. :)Sue in NJ
Guest guest
Down 0.8 - yay! I'll take it. I've been fighting allergies and it has morphed from sneezing to really hard coughing, so I wasn't sure what the scale would say. But, I bought a bag of mini carrots last week and I've been putting them on the table every night. I'm a nibbler - if they weren't there, I wouldn't miss them, but since they were there, I had at least a handful each night. Usually, when I buy them, we all wait for "someone else" to eat them (grin). My dear sister was UP 4.4 over 2 weeks. She is confounded. I told her that just as there is often a massive weight loss the first week, that's not REAL weight loss, a lot of it is water. I think the same is true of a massive gain. You simply can't gain 4 lbs of real weight unless you are living on Twinkies and beer. She said she had tacos last night, so maybe sodium? She never had nearly the weight to lose that I did, and she's still down about 30-35 from her high so I think she should not worry about it too much, just BE AWARE. I did a lot of walking today, so I'm going to try to incorporate more of that and more of the water, and see what happens this week. Guest guest
> all of this recent weight loss > is really due to getting out of the Mountain Dew habit....unbelievable > that MD was keeping so much weight on. How many calories in one can, something like 250 or so? 4 or 5 cans covers all your calories for the *day*! >2 weeks ago I got bit by a spider. a wolf spider > and even though it was not the nasty kind it was bad, and it got > infected with staph so that has been real fun. I was about 10 years old when both feel got spider bites (No idea what kind) and both my legs to the knees were so bloated I couldn't even put slacks on. My grandfather lent me a pair of his slippers so I had something to put on my feet when we left the house for doctor appointments. They were like that for most of the summer. Horrible! I hope yours wasn't as bad and you're on your way to better health. > and I fell > hard on concrete in a crack on the road. I thought I was the only one who tripped on cracks in the sidewalk? I hope your knee is okay after that whack. Sue in NJ
