Guest guest
SUCH A CHORE! Saturday, 19 July 2008 "It's such a chore to get up in the morning to make breakfast!""It's such a chore to go to the gym and work out." "It's such a chore to count calories."(Sigh.) Isn't it such a shame that so many people think it's such a chore to take good care of themselves? Not me! I don't look at it as a chore taking good care of myself...at all! But sadly, millions of people do. So many people just dread to go on a weight-loss program and you know why? It's because it means they have to give up all of the fattening foods they've grown to love. A lot of people dread getting their workouts in everyday. They can just think exercise and all of a sudden, the nastiest look crosses their faces. Some people even dread going into the produce department and thumping a few cantaloupes. Or they really dread getting up early in the morning to take a brisk walk. And when you have that kind of a dreadful attitude about doing things that are so good for you, then it's a sure thing that you'll gain more weight and be even more unhappy with yourself! Look, you can't think of taking good care of yourself as some "chore!" My friends, who I adore so much, I have to tell you all something. You should be looking at your weight-loss journey as an adventure...really! And think about it, this adventure can really open up the doors of your life while providing you with a better, healthier and happier life! Now there's an adventure! With every balanced meal you eat and with every workout you do, you'll get a natural high. You'll start feeling really good about yourself, like you can fly! You'll get on that scale and you'll see those numbers decrease. You'll go to your closet and remove all of those clothes that don't fit you anymore. (They're too big now...hooray!)And you'll start being more adventurous with your life, too. You may take a trip some place you've always dreamed of going. Or you may learn to ice skate. You may even decide to go mountain-climbing for the first time in your life. I mean, who knows what challenge you may decide to take on after losing that weight? That's for you to discover! So when you get up in the morning, don't get up with that nasty old look on your face. You've gotta spring out of bed and say to yourself... "Wow! I get another day to grab the brass ring! I'm going to do my best at eating healthy. And I'll work out today to the best of my ability. Getting healthy by losing this weight is not a 'chore'...it's an honor!"And for me, this was no chore. It was an honor to bring you this message today, too!Love,
