Well, we're here today for the rest of my list...the Top FIVE reasons people use for not working out in the summer. Are you ready? Because here we go! (5)I'm in a bad mood. Well, you just sit there in the corner and pout for a while then, okay? Boo-hoo, for you. You're in a bad mood so...the world should stop? And why are you in such a bad mood, huh? Did someone get you in a bad mood? (Hey, you can't let people do that to you!) Or did you self-inflict that bad mood? Were you just sitting there, bored to tears and dug up some past unpleasant memories that got you upset? Don't lay there all limp on the couch feeling sorry for yourself. You wanna change that mood? Well, put in Party Off The Pounds, my newest workout now available in DVD that's back in the Clubhouse Store. I'll change your mood into a great one with that workout!(4)I'm having cramps. Boy, if I only had 10 cents for every time I hear that one. And I know, sometimes it's a reality with those cramps. There are many women who have extremely painful cramps. I always tell them to visit the doctor when they get them because there may be a remedy available to help ease the pain. I have ladies who come to Slimmons who seem to have cramps every week. When you do get a cramp, it's really hard to do your cardio-workouts. So when they come on, you should opt for maybe some yoga or stretching to help you get through that uncomfortable time. (3)I have a headache. I have some friends who get really bad migraine headaches. (They always are bad though, aren't they?) I've seen my friends go through with one of those migraines and I know how horrible they must feel. You should never exercise when you're having a migraine. And if they have bothered you for a while, then you really should see a doctor. Now, what should you do when you have a less severe kind of headache? Well, ice is nice. And so is a good walk. Find some shady spot, sit down on the grass taking in some deep breaths of fresh air. Then get up and do your walk. Not a jog, not a prance, just a simple walk as you breath in all of that fresh air. I promise, it will help make your headache go away. (2)I'm too tired. Well, then go take a fifteen minute nap, get up from that break and go do your workout. I told you yesterday that if you don't get enough rest, then you won't have enough energy to do much of anything else. But, I'm telling you, it's true about taking a short nap before your workouts. See, I get up early, very early every morning. But I always take a little nap before going to teach class at Slimmons in the evening. I just lay across the bed, close my eyes and let my muscles and bones relax. Try it! While you're nodding off, your body begins to relax and enters a peaceful period. And once you get up from that nap, you'll not feel so tired anymore.Okay, drum roll please! And the number one reason people use for not exercising during the Dog Days of summer... 1)I don't feel like it! Oh, really? You don't feel like it? What do you feel like right now then? A banana split or a turkey burger? You don't feel like it? Well, I'm sorry but you've still got to do it. Hey, there are times I'm headed to work out in my gym and just for a mini-second or so, I get the same kinda thought. "Oh, I worked out yesterday, the day before and the day before that. I just don't feel like it today." Well, I quickly whip my attitude back into shape. I think about how good I'll feel after I've done my workout and it really charges me up. See, sometimes we have to do things that we don't feel like doing but we know we should. That's because the end results are so good for us!So over the past two days, I've given you the Top Ten reasons people use for not exercising. And how many of them have you used? Well, no more wasting time this month. If you want to lose five pounds by the end of August, then I want you to tear up that excuses list of yours and get to work, working out that body of yours!
