Guest guest
Hopefully you will hit it soon, are you close ? I am not on a diet. but I have 1. Quit drinking Mountain Dew 2. Quit getting drive through food. 3. Quit buying convencie store "gallon size" big gulp sweet tea. Today I am at 294.4 10 pm is a very bad time of day for me. which is right now.........and I want to have snack food, and for the first time in a long time there is none in this house. I have not changed my meals at all. Eventually I may need to work on what I am eating but one or two things at a time. Beating the Mountain Dew and Mcs habit has been huge. You talked about being under 300 in high school - I was under 100 in high school . I only say this because I think this has been part of my longterm issue. It has only been recently that I have admitted that I was too heavy. I know may sound weird but in my mind I was still that skinny teenager. Even when the scale said 325 I still saw that skinny girl. I only weighed 114 when I got married . When I hit 325 and was circling the Walmart parking lot for an half hour to get a parking place near the door, that was when I realized that I need to get my life back ! Guest guest
HI Vicki, I don't know what's better...being skinny at one point in your life or never knowing the feeling? I have always been overweight, except for maybe at birth but for some reason I can't remember it so well. I am working with a trainer and she suggested a few "if I get a craving after dinner" tips -Drink a Fresca it has 0 calories and kind of gives you the feeling of a soft drink -Brush you teeth -Go to Bed Maybe one of these might help you or someone else. I like the bed one because usually it is late enough and I should be in bed anyway but if it is too early I go with the Fresca and it works. Guest guest
>I don't know what's better...being skinny at one point in your life or never knowing the feeling? I have always been overweight, except for maybe at birth but for some reason I can't remember it so well. I wasn't even normal weight then - I was 10 pounds at birth! And because I *gained* weight in my first 24 hours in the newborn nursery, the doc had the nurses water down my formula to half-strength, so I was put on my first calorie restricted diet at the old age of 1 day. Is it any wonder why my metablism is so screwed up and my thyroid is slow? >-Drink a Fresca it has 0 calories and kind of gives you the feeling of a soft drink I used to love Fresca, but can't tolerate any of the artificial sweeteners companies use nowadays. Bring back saccharine and you'll see me load up on diet soda by the case! Sue in NJ
Guest guest
Sue, I see that both Pepsi and Coke are supposed to be coming out with products that contain stevia in the next year I do believe. aFrom: Sue in NJ <sue_in_nj@...>Subject: Re: Re: Under Milestone !!!!100-plus Date: Sunday, August 17, 2008, 12:00 PM >I don't know what's better...being skinny at one point in your life or never knowing the feeling? Guest guest
>I see that both Pepsi and Coke are supposed to be coming out with products that contain stevia in the next year I do believe. I don't hold out much hope for those, either. I tried 3 different brands of stevia, in powder and leaf forms, and all I tasted was *bitterness* instead of sweetness. And that stuff was darn expensive, too! Water remains the drink of choice, I guess. At least that's something *everyone* in this house now prefers and does drink all day long. You should see how many Brita filters I go through! We really should invest in some other filter. We did have the type that screwed on to the faucet, but the faucet in this apartment is so cheesy and cheap that it pulled the whole unit off the back of the sink and we had to have the landlord come in and reset and reseal it. It was then that we switched to the pitchers with the filters and we've been using those for 8 years now. At least Bed, Bath, Beyond usually has a $10 rebate on the box of replacement filters so we safe a little bit of money. It's still cheaper than bottled water.
