I have to get back in the habit of doing this. I used to write every bite and sip down, even thoe years when I was using the Foodmover, a gadget designed to eliminate all that writing. But those years doing the " eat to satisfaction " low fat vegan plan made me sloppy. Sure, the food is the healthiest on the face of the earth, being veggies and fruit and whole grains without a lick of fat, but telling a compulsive overeater she can " eat to satisfaction " is deadly! I weigh about 50 pounds more now than when I first started eating that was back in the 1980's. Sure, I lost a bit of it doing the strictest version of the plan back in 2000, but I had to reduce my calories down to 800 a day to get there and as soon as I went back to 1200 to 1400, an amount still 600 a day less than the Foodmover says I should be eating, I gained almost all of it back. School supplies are out in the stores, so maybe I should go and grab the cutest little memo/homework pads like I used to use and get started again. I know, I think I said this the week before vacation, too, but never did it. At least I found my old ones, and even though I wasn't eating the " healthiest " foods around, I was eating much less than I did on the McDougall plans and lost weight. > After that I would have to say reading labels and making better > choices. I would put 2 burgers on one roll. One year when I was doing an elimination diet for food allergy testing I wasn't allowed wheat products at all and used rice cakes instead of burger buns. A bit sloppy but it did the job. >Ebay has been wonderful! It can be hard to find equipment for someone who > weighs over 350lbs. It was hard finding a treadmill to hold someone over 250 pounds! When you buy from ebay, what's the shipping charges like? Probably more than the item itself, I would assume. > I tend to drink the Power-Aid Option which is > still calorie free sweetened with some thing and flavored. I wish I could do artificial sweeteners again. I would kill for some Crystal Light or even a can of Fresca! The most I can do now is some water or (big whoop) seltzer. Oh well, the boys are looking for food so I better go. I'll catch up with the rest of the email tomorrow. Sue in NJ
Guest guest
Sue, Have you tried adding True Lemon or True Lime to your water? Not sweet, but refreshing. a Re: Re: Weekly Weigh in > Thanks!! Oh gosh do I have to pick ONE thing??
