Weigh-in - when does that cause and effect kick in?

I skipped weigh-in last week due to a bad headache.

Last Saturday, I tore off about a third of my toenail, below the quick. I'll spare you the details, but this is painful, and I have been cranky, all week. Yesterday was the first day that it was just achy and sore and not throbbing in pain, so I guess I will live (smile).

I've also had some frustrations with my daughter. Her new friend has now been promoted to BOYfriend and he is here ALL the time. In addition, one afternoon, she and OLD boyfriend had just gone to a movie (platonically) and offered me a ride home because theater was very close to my office. Being as I've been a near-cripple this week, I accepted. NEW boyfriend was already waiting at the house! Then, I had OLD boyfriend and NEW boyfriend (a 6-foot, 250-lb hulkster) in the house while I'm trying to cook the "planned-overs" intended for 2 or maybe 3, hobbling around on a bad toe. I had a speech all developed but didn't have the chutzpah to use it. She sent OLD boyfriend home, and we had a skinny meal for 4 people.

Last night, they came in just as I was serving dinner for hubby and me - they had already eaten, thank God. They go for a walk at 8PM, but at 10:30 they are still gone. They told hubby but didn't tell me; I was frantic to figure out what was going on. Her cellphone was at the house. I finally blew up, called NEW boyfriend on HIS cellphone and said, "What the hell is going on?" Oh, the neighborhood is so beautiful, blah blah blah. They were back at the house about 10 minutes later, and I read them both the riot act. Then, had to rest before heading out for the bus/train, because "I have muscular dystrophy and I tire easily." Yeah, that's why he can take a 2.5 hour walk, in the dark. Uh-huh.

Dinner last night, was salmon steaks, leftover pasta, salad and pears. It was actually quite nice.

Weigh-in this morning - down 2.8 lbs. I have been more careful with my food, especially with salt 36 hours before weigh-in, but obviously not getting much exercise due to my toe, except maybe jumping to conclusions.

I know some people see a real change when they change their habits or behaviors, but I don't see the relationship yet. Maybe because I've got so much to lose. Sure, I know there IS a cause and effect or I wouldn't weigh twice what I should. But, as a "century club" member, do you get the difference? Do you FEEL like you weigh less when you know you did the week mostly on-plan?
