MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS, LOUIE!

Wednesday, 30 July 2008

So, guess where I am today? St. Louis, Missouri, that's where! I'm here to do another appearance for Time-Life. As many of you may already know, they are the company who has re-released my Sweatin' To The Oldies workouts in DVD format.

Time-Life has been very good to me and they're arranging to release a couple other of my workout titles soon, too. So stay tuned. In the meantime, I just love traveling around and meeting people who have worked out to my Sweatin' videos and now...DVDs, for over two decades now. They all tell me how the Sweatin' series has helped them lose weight and make them feel better about themselves. And oh how good that makes me feel, too!Who knew all of this would happen when the idea for Sweatin' To The Oldies first entered my mind? My idea was to do a workout that featured real people of all shapes and sizes working out to real music that everybody could have fun moving to.

I'll begin my St. Louis press tour early this morning by doing a few radio shows. I've gotta tell you, I've always enjoyed doing radio. Something about the medium is just so fascinating and fun for me. First off today, I'm doing a show called & Company. After that, I go to KMOX radio, a station I've been doing in St. Louis for years. Later, I'll do a show called Smash In The Morning on KLPU Radio. Then I'll rush over to the local FOX-TV station to do their morning show. But I won't be done, I'll have another show to do to promote my appearance this evening. Yep, it's a busy day for me here in St. Louie! My appearance this evening is from 6-8PM at the Walgreen's store at 441 Kirkwood Road in pretty Kirkwood, Missouri. I like to get to the store a little early so I can meet all of the nice people who work there. And then even more fun begins as I get to meet all of the great people who have come out to see me at Walgreen's. So if you're in the neighborhood, please do drop by and say hello tonight.

Wow, I haven't been to St. Louis for a personal appearance in quite a while. And I'm really looking forward to experiencing this wonderful city again. Have you ever been to see St. Louis to see what I consider one of the man-made wonders of the world? I'm talking about the stunning Gateway Arch. What an amazing structure, so grandly guarding the Mississippi River...on its way to my hometown of New Orleans, by the way! I can't even imagine how they built it. The Arch soars from the earth hundreds of feet into the heavens.I remember the first time I went into the Arch and, yes, you can go inside. There's an elevator that takes you all the way to the top. You may not know but I'm not really one for heights. But I really wanted to get up there and experience the view. So, an elevator full of people and me began our way to the top of the Arch and on the way up, (gasp!), the elevator broke! So I was on the side of the Arch for three hours and never got a chance to go all the way up. Hmmm, maybe I'll challenge myself to try it one more time today!I've got an exciting day planned and I hope you have an action-packed day planned for yourself today, too! Hope to see all of my St. Louis area friends at Walgreen's this evening!Love,
