Guest guest
Hi Joy, I have been wondering how Ian has been doing. That wasn't you & Ian, by the way,was it last Saturday coming out of Dr. Hatton's office as Kelsey and I walked in? I think you should be reassured that Ian *has* been able to show some ability to boss back Mr. Frustration, even though he has seemed to slide back. In my experience, it can go like this. Perhpas it was just a relapse? After Kelsey was doing great with CBT, I went away for a weekend (she stayed with dad) and all hell broke lose at home, cluminating in her refusal to come in the house for several hours because it was contaminated. If I hadn't come home to coax her in, who knows how long she'd have been in the back yard. It helped me to know that relapses do occur from time to time but less often and less severe. Anyway, hopefully you'll get the medication worked out and convince him to not get discouraged and to just keep plugging away. I used to tell Kelsey, " That bad guy doesn't like it when you're in charge. He's always trying to come back and get his way because he knows you're getting stronger and pretty soon he won't be able to boss you around anymore. Good luck, in San Diego
Guest guest
Hi Joy, Interesting comment about stubborness and OCD. I remember when was just 4 months old and I used to rock him to sleep every night. One night I was just too exhausted and Steve tried to take over the rocking. He cried for 45 minutes because he wanted me. We put dad on bedtime duty after that and he adjusted, but like you said...it's a fine line! Take care, Chris
Guest guest
Hi Joy, I am a new member too and I wanted to tell you how sorry I am that you so recently lost your mother. Both my parents crossed over in 1999 and I know how much I miss them. I hope you are managing ok. I also noticed that you and I weigh near the same. This morning I weighed in at 227.0 My first goal is to reach 200 and to ride my recumbent at least 30 minutes a day. My food plan is to count calories and carbs. I am actually following the Insulin Diet. Though I am not diabetic I was concerned to see my fasting insulin was 95 and I want that lower since my father was a diabetic. Have a good day Joy.
