Guest guest
HOUSE Tuesday, 12 August 2008 got teased a lot. And as an overweight teenager, you know what that means. It means you become a moving target...for insults, that is! The insults heard so often about her weight really upset her, of course. But she was able to hear them and then, for the most part, move on past the wise cracks. That is until one day at school, one classmate was particularly nasty to her. Spotting , he hollered at her..."Hey, House! Just look at you, you're as big as a house!" After hurling his mean and not-so-little insult, he began laughing about what he'd yelled at . went home crying to her mother. And it wasn't the first time that she'd done so, either. But being called a "house" really put her over the top, emotionally. And to have that mean old kid do it in front of her classmates only made a bad situation worse. Now 's mother had tried many things to help her daughter lose weight. But none of those things every lasted. She wanted so very much to help her daughter lose the weight but nothing seemed to work. But one day, was going through some of her mother's old workout videos and came across my original Sweatin' To The Oldies. So decided to give it a try. And after just one that try, even though it was a little tough for her that first time out, was hooked. She found some more of her mother's old videos and began doing them, too.As she kept going, was feeling so good about herself that she wanted to feel good not just about her newly minted good habit of exercise. But she wanted to feel good about the way she ate, too. So she began eating more salads and more fruits and vegetables. Yep, kept that body of hers moving and she really cleaned up her bad eating habits,. And the best news if that the weight began coming off her body, uh, one "shingle" at a time! (Take that, you mean old classmate!) Oh, I almost forgot to tell you that is only 15 years-old. And I have to add, she is one of the smartest 15 year-olds I have ever talked to! And get this, since changing her eating habits and making exercise a dedicated part of her life, has lost 58 pounds! She told me that she was going to continue using my DVDs now and continue losing weight, too! 's mother wasn't there when I talked to her on my radio show Sunday. She was at Target, working. But told me how very proud her mother was of her. And hey, who can blame her? Isn't this such a nice story? And isn't it sad the way some people get some kind of weird "kick" out of going around calling overweight people terrible names, like "House?" It's just so mean! Being mean to someone is certainly not being supportive of them.Thank goodness for happy endings, though. I'm so glad tried my videos. They had already worked for her mother's weight-loss efforts. And it feels so good to see my video/DVDs now being passed along from generation to generation. If you have an overweight child, put on one of my workouts and see if they won't become dancing bugs too, just like !And speaking of great workouts, I have some new DVDs available in the Clubhouse Store. Have you sweated to my latest DVD, Party Off The Pounds? Or have you tried Totally Tonin', using my Toning Rings? They're both great workouts that will keep you feeling and looking good. And your kids will enjoy them, too!Remember, the family that sweats together is the family that stays healthy together!Love,
