I don't know what t.v. show they are advertising that just had that line in it, but I thought it might apply to my life LOL!!

I am so exhausted from the 97-ish degree temps that I can't even think straight enough to post an end-of-June update and goals for July. Pathetic, huh?

Monday's exciting (??) news at work about the acquisition of our "competitor" followed by today's sorta unsettling (due to the unknowns still involved) over Starbucks' continual down-sizing don't help. Let me back up, I don't think I posted last night:

Yesterday at work, they announced that the company I work for purchased our "competitor" and following is the how this is going to work, changing benefits, incentive plan cash-outs, etc...

Since this is public knowledge and I am not really telling secrets here: today, Starbucks (my client at work) issued a press release that they will be closing 600 stores and "only" opening less than 200 for their next fiscal year. Some of you know, some of you do not, but what "I do for a living" is: the company I work for is a 3rd party consulting business, consolidated utility and telecom bill-paying service, etc and one of the services we provide is "Open and Close" - I am a Utility Coordinator and I "open and close" utility (electric/gas/water/sewer) accounts for Starbucks when they go into or out of locations. So, this news tells me I am going to be "very" busy over the next 8-9 months closing accounts for these locations, more-so than openings for the next year.

My manager did not even have a clue, I sent her the press release LOL!! and said "you might want to get SBUX on the phone and start getting some numbers so we know how/when to staff our team.

The heat is next on my list:

It's so warm through the night that I am not sleeping decent and can't even drag myself out of bed in the morning to wog, let alone anything else. By the time I get home from work it's too warm in the house. It's not a set of excuses, friends, really.

I did end up with a net gain of 2 lbs for June, with how things fell on my scale at home. No inches lost either. I'd like to think that things will be better in July. They can only be better. I remember back to happenings in June: trip to see Jay and then a week of depression (or near-depression) over my sister's murder's "stuff" Overall, the scale's still 60 lbs down roughly, so I can't complain.

It was a goal to exercise 26 days during June. I only made it 21 times (yeeeesh). BUT!! I did progress on the c25k program and I am pleased with that. I did also finish the women's challenge approx 9 days early, so this is good news.

So. July. Got 31 days to make a difference. It will be a great month!! Goal is to exercise 27 days this next month. And, to follow the goal of being at my 2nd WW 10% by Labor Day, I really really really need to lose *a lot* of weight this next month. Almost to the tune of 8-10 lbs. Oiy!

Opportunities to make great choices in July

2nd - team potluck - going away party for co-worker 4th - holiday TOM 17-21st - trip to see hunny ;-)~ 25th - middle son's "official" 14th b-day Aug 1st (close enough to this month LOL) - moi's b-day :o)

Steps-wise, I've now walked a total of 8,431,381 steps (4215 miles) and have almost 1.6 million to go to reach 10 mil (goal for 2008 to get this #).... woooohooooo!! This is *only* an average of 8600 steps per day, so since I am aiming for 10K a day, I should get there early <wink>

Success on the scale: checkSuccess off the scale: check!!

Ok. My month in review turned out better than I gave myself credit for. I hope you all had a fantastic June - first 6 months of the year's effort are over - and are well stocked and inventoried for how July through the end of the year need to go.

I hope all the Canadian friends on list had a great holiday today and Happy 4th of July to the U.S. citizens on Friday!

in WA310/250.8/170 (-59.2 total, 80.8 to go, 10.8 from half-way point) I've lost 66.5 inches!!"I'm not telling you it's going to be easy, I'm telling you it's going to be worth it!" -Art Gas prices getting you down? Search AOL Autos for fuel-efficient used cars.
