Guest guest
REJUVENATE YOURSELF! Thursday, 17 July 2008 So how are you enjoying your summer? I just loved summer when I was a kid because there was no school! (Y-a-a-a-y!) But here we are, you and me, adults now and we don't get off from work in the summer like we used to get off for school. Oh that's right...work, work, work, that's all we "drones" do. Yes, I'm a drone...and proud of it, baby! So what are you doing this summer? The weather is hot but it's still great. Are you getting out there and walking every day? And I mean really walking...not just strolling. Walking is when you really move your arms and legs, putting some real gusto into each step as your stride down the street.Maybe you've been gardening this summer. You know, bending down to plant some petunias, impatiens or even some summer tomatoes. Are you doing some do-it-yourself home improvements this summer? Like fixing up a bathroom, painting the kitchen or staining your deck?Or you may be hopping into the pool this summer and swimming your laps. Of course, summer is the time of year for those family vacations and you know how hectic they can be! So let me ask you, do you ever get like a little dizzy when you're outside in the summer heat? Say for instance, you're kneeling, doing some planting and you get up quickly. When you do, do you sometimes see like, these little white lights in front of your eyes? They look like those little Christmas twinkle lights, sparkle for a while then fade. Does that ever happen to you? When you're outside in the heat a lot, does your energy-level sometimes seem to fade on you? Do you feel tired? Yeah? Well, I know what your problem is. You're not rejuvenating your body with the water it needs. Everyone tells me they drink enough water but, honestly? Well, I think otherwise.I always tell people to fill eight glasses with eight ounces of water each and keep them in the fridge. See, that's how much water you need to be drinking...every day! Putting them in the fridge like that helps you see how much water you should be drinking. But I want you to make sure you drink each of them. This is just a little way to help get you into the habit of drinking the right amount of water your body needs on a daily basis. Look at those eight glasses and see? That's a whole lotta water going on. And if you're outdoors a lot this summer, you may need to drink even more. Especially in the summer months, that sun really dehydrates your body. And remember, your body is made up of over 65% water. Not replacing it and not drinking enough water can cause you to have dizzy spells. It can also lead to your having headaches. When the body doesn't get enough water, it's harder for it to generate enough energy for you. You end up feeling lethargic and tired. Or it can also lead to you getting cramps or aches and pains. Here's the worse thing about not drinking enough water. Your skin begins looking just awful! It gets all wrinkled and you end up with a "Mummy-ish" look! Hey, look at what happened to the Mummy! I'm sure he wasn't drinking any water...at all!A week ago, I talked to a lady who told me that she just hated water! It was so boring to her. So I told her the next time she was in the supermarket, to pick up a few bottles of food coloring. I told her to add a drop or two to each glass of water before she drank them. I also told her to use bright and happy colors, too. That little trick-of-the-eye would make drinking those glasses of water a little easier for her. And guess what? She did it and it's working! The next time I saw her, she told me, ", your suggestion worked. You've heard of Holy Water? Well, now I'm drinking "Color-Water" and just love to drink it!"So do your body and your skin a favor this summer...get your water in! And there's one more v-e-r-y important thing drinking all of that water will do for you...it'll help you lose more weight!Love,
