Guest guest
Hi Everyone.... First off Welcome to all the new members! Just a quick introduction from me.... I'm 38, married mom of 3 girls, I live in Michigan on a crop farm and work at a local grocery store where I do just about every thing. I have been overweight all my life, 300lbs when I started high school and hit my highest of 427 when I was 27yrs old. I am currently 349 ish and at a stand still at the moment. Will get to that in a second I have asthma, hypertension (on meds since I was 12) tyep II diabetes, sleep apnea and GERD. I will be retested for the apnea soon as I have lost some weight and hopefully I will get a clean bill of health as far as that goes! Ok... now the update on me! It has been a rough month or so for me. My weight has been fluctuating up and down, it has been back up to 354 and as low as 344 as of this morning I was 349 again, I am trying to get it back down. With the bronchitis then I had a cervical biopsy, ended up getting a yeast infection a couple of days later, and a UTI, I have been on more meds then I like to think about. On top of all of this my Dad's oncologist has told him there is nothing more they can do for him and that it is now a matter of time... she told him he has a month or two...... could be a year, but not likely. It is very frustrating!!!!!!!!!! Here is a man that is not ready to give up, wants to fight for all he has left in him and yet there is nothing they can do for him!!! This has my emotions reeling at times and I have found myself stress eating... Then I drive myself crazy and ask myself am I stress eating because of the stress, or am I just using the stress as an excuse to eat what I shouldn't eat and call it stress eating?!?! I decided yesterday NO MORE CHOCOLATE!!!! I was able to fit it in here and there and *I KNOW* that if I eat it I crave it, if I can get off of it for a week or so I no longer crave it! Sooooo I bought some gum and carrot sticks to pop into my mouth when I have that urge to eat when I shouldn't be hungry. I've never heard of anyone getting fat on carrot sticks and sugar free gum If anyone has any other suggestions they would be greatly appreciated! Now it is time to dust off my food journal and my exercise chart and get my butt in gear! I actually decided that I want to lose 20lbs by the end of the year, very doable for me!! I don't normally set goals with a date on them, but this time I think I need a date to get my butt going! a
