Guest guest Posted August 15, 2008 Report Share Posted August 15, 2008 HALF-WAY CHECKUP Friday, 15 August 2008 Okay, I'll admit that I'm not a good passenger in a car. I travel so-o-o much! And whenever I arrive in a city, there'll always these little limos to pick me up at the airport and carry me away to where ever I need to go.After getting into the car and saying hello to the driver, it's not long before I end up asking him or her, "How far is it?" And if their answer seems like more than a short drive to me, I'll respond with..."That far?"Then I'll settle into the back seat, staring at the scenery of Des Moines, Atlanta, Miami or whichever city I'm in that time. After a while, I begin looking at my watch., thinking to myself, "Hey, seems like we've been in this car for a while. I wonder if we're getting close yet?" I'll finally ask the driver, "So are we at least halfway there yet?" And if the answer if "yes," I'll feel great because I know that in a little while, we'll have reached our destination!Well, today is the 15th of August and the month is halfway over. (Oh yes, check your calendars!) And let me ask, have you been on program the last 15 days? Yep, it's inventory time, my dear friends. So, did you exercise the last 15 days for an hour or so each day? Remember, you promised that you were going to build up to an hour a day of working out your body. Out of those first 15 days in August, did you tone for six of those days? You know, I mean did you use your Toning Rings and Toning Cords? Did you use free weights at all during this first half of this month? And did you plan your meals for the past 15 days? Were you aware of how many calories you were eating on a daily basis? Did you stick to portion control for the past 15 days. Did you focus on clean protein, smart carbs and plenty of roughage? Did you get all of your water in...all of it, as in eight 8-ounce glasses a day? Well, if you did all of those things then you should be doggoned proud of yourself! And, if you did, you most probably have lost at least 2 to 2 1/2 pounds so far this month. Yeah? Well...hoora-a-a-y! But remember, you're only halfway through the month and I don't want you to blow it!Stick with the program for the rest of this month and you will have lost five or more pounds by the time September 1 rolls around. Oh, I can hear the excited yelling now. (And I knew that would excite you!) Now, some of you have not had a very good first 15 days of August. You were stressed or upset and you allowed it to slow down your progress. Well, that just won't do. You didn't think enough about yourself to take good care of you. But I've got to tell you that you don't want to spend the second half of August doing what you did...or didn't do in the first half. In the first half of the month, you may have been too lazy about your exercise. And you may not have made time make time to plan your meals like you should have. Well, I want you to begin turning all of that around...today! Make sure your meals are planned for the 16th, (tomorrow), and all the way to the 31st day of this month.And don't forget to get your exercise in. Keep the blood flowing and the weight-loss going! Do that and in the second half of this month, you'll be more in control of taking good care of yourself.
