Guest guest
BE PROUD! Monday, 08 September 2008 hadn't weighed herself in a very long time. She put her scale away and there it stayed until she got it out about two months ago. After cleaning it up a bit, she got up the guts to get on that scale to see what the numbers revealed. Well, it was not good news. was shocked to see that her weight was now 326 pounds! "How did this happen to me," she asked herself? "How did I go from the high 100s to the 200s to the 300s? What was I thinking or not thinking, is the better question!" sent me a letter at Slimmons asking for my help. After reading her letter, I sent her a copy of the Lighten Up program I send out to guests of my radio show. Eager to get the weight off, began following the program. After began looking over the Lighten Up program, she realized that she had been eating all of the wrong things and none of the right ones, really. She wasn't eating salads or that many fruits and vegetables. And she was guilty of eating out too much and spending too much time grabbing something to eat from those fast food places, too. She had also not been much of a breakfast eater. And actually, her favorite time of the day to eat was usually at night, while she was watching TV. Add to all that the fact that was also very, very inactive. Now she was beginning to get an idea why her weight had increased so much! After taking better care of herself for the next sixty days, lost 31 pounds! That took her out of the 300s and back into the 200-pound range. When she wrote me with this great news, also let me know that she was not so very happy with the new numbers she saw on her scale. That's because she really thought she would have lost more weight by now! Golly, I guess some people just aren't happy about anything! was so disappointed, in fact, that she even told me she was thinking about giving up and going off program. Hold it! Oh, I just had to write her back and let her know that she needed a serious attitude adjustment.I told her that she went from doing nothing and eating like a set of twins to creating a healthier lifestyle for herself. went from being just a sitter to becoming a walker, as part of her exercise plan. I told her that she should be proud of herself and stop all of the whining. I told her to think about how much better she felt and how much healthier her body was just for losing those 31 pounds so far. I told her that if she stopped the program, then she'd gain back the weight she'd worked so hard to lose. And I reminded her that if she stayed positive and on program, she could lose another 31 pounds and more weight, each and every month she kept the fight going. So, are you like ? Are you not happy with your weight loss because you want to take the weight off faster? Well, take a breather and be proud of yourself for every pound you've lost so far. I mean, let's do the math here. When you lose one pound, it's because you've lost 3500 calories. And, in 's case, losing those 31 pounds, it means she'd lost 108,500 calories. Now tell me that's not something she shouldn't feel good about? So give yourself a well-earned pat on the back instead of a kick in the butt for every pound you lose in a healthy manner!Love,
