I got my Mastercook 9 software and it has a bit of a learning curve.

But I am sure I will have mastered enough of it to turn in a few pages of

home work to my dietitian by Monday.

I am going crazy trying to find - adapt recipes that fit all the rules,

lower fat, lower salt, that I have the skill to cook, that don't call for

high priced ingredients, most of all taste good and wont leave me hungry 5

minutes later.

In a few minutes, I am running to the store with a notebook and pen to make

a list of foods with low salt / low fat labels that I think I may like to

eat.

Then I am coming home to make up a menu for the week. Then going back to do

my shopping.

I got a big surprise last week when I started reading bread labels. Just

because it says 7 grain whole wheat does not mean its healthy. The salt and

fat in 2 slices were close to my limit for the whole day........but boy the

bread sure tasted yummy.

While not on a very very very low salt / low fat / she does want me to cut

it down. So I do have a bit of wiggle room.

(1600 calorie / 1500mg sodium)

As the dietitian suggested I am starting to " make over " my favorite meals

1st. Hopefully something I turn in tomorrow will meet with her approval.
