My Sunday

I just got back from my Sunday workout and I can't tell you how

exuberant I feel. What a difference a day makes. Saturday was my day

off from working out and cardio. I had a particularly hard core

workout on Friday and my back wasn't happy so it was heat and rest. I

have to say I was so melancholy all day I didn't get anything

important done and I was a little over my 1500 calories for the day,

and yes some of those calories were bad calories! I just don't do well

on those days I can't go to the gym and move.

So today I went in and was so full of energy I managed to better my

time on everything. I did the bike for warmup 13 minutes, and then 15

minutes on the treadmill pushing it up to 3.4 pace to get up to speed.

Then I hopped on the elliptical with the arms for 55 minutes managing

a speed of about 120 average so I could bring my mile to 14 minutes. I

didn't take it to 4 miles, that is for when I can do the 4 miles

within the 45 minute minimum.

I felt so good I did a few exercises before finishing with my

stretches. I am the most concerned about not losing enough gut yet so

I am " practicing " with one core exercise each day to make it stronger.

And I do my crunches with a medicine ball to make it harder.

I don't want you to think I am bragging, although I am proud of what I

can do. I want to let you know that in May when I started I couldn't

do any of these things. My heart rate on the elliptical was like 141

by 3 minutes. My stretching was at -1 inch and now I can put my nose

to my knee if I do it right sitting down, and I can put my hands flat

on the floor straight with my feet a little less that shoulder wide

apart.

If you push yourself and do more than you think you can, as much as

you can, then you will be able to do more every time you try to do

something. I am so living proof of this. I still have a ways to go. I

am 60 pounds from what I think I want to weigh, and I have no idea how

much I can do and I want to see that. So I encourage everyone, push

past where you are to see just what you really are capable of, you

will be so surprised and pleased when you do!

" It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my

heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me

with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the

components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and

loving as they are. " ~Cheryl Zuccaro
