Guest guest
NEVER WENT BACK! Sunday, 16 November 2008 Over the years, I have seen friends, family members and many of you achieve great success with your weight-loss. And when you reached your goals, you often tell me, "Oh, , it feels so good to be at this weight. And I promise you, I will never go back. I will never regain my weight! I intend to stay at this weight for the rest of my life!" But sadly, in some cases, promises like that are made to be broken. Some of you know how it goes. You slip a little something extra to eat here or an extra roll, with butter there. And the next thing you're guilty of is that you're coming up with excuses not to work out. And before you know it, the weight you'd worked so hard to lose comes roaring back so fast, you'd think those pounds were driving a race car! When I meet many of you on the road, some of you ask me, how do I keep the weight off. You want to know how I've managed not to gain back the weight after all these years. And the only thing I can say is, "I just want it so bad, bad bad!" I also visualize what I would look and feel like by getting back up to say, 200 pounds...at my age. Oh, those visions alone can give me headaches the whole day!Yes, I'll admit that sometimes, I'll have a little something extra here, there and sometimes, everywhere! But I quickly snap back by increasing my exercise for that day. Oh yes, like you, I am sometimes tempted to overeat and yield to those temptations. I've told you before that I rarely go out to restaurants. But I did while I was in New York City on Wednesday night. It was a family style Italian restaurant where they fill every table with a display of tempting dishes so everyone can get a taste of everything. Oh, oh! On the table Wednesday night, there was fried calamari, stuffed mushrooms, an antipasto platter, fried cheese...wait, I'm not finished! There was also sliced steak, chicken parmesan, spaghetti with marinara sauce and shrimp cocktail. I skipped all the rest and had only the shrimp.I have to tell you that this restaurant, Lamela in Little Italy served simply unbelievable food. At one point in the evening, I even said to myself, "C'mon , go for it! Who knows, this could be your last meal!"But then I did some of that visualization I told you about earlier. And after that, I was very happy with just my six shrimp. So I guess that's my secret. And maybe I have one more secret. It's this...I honestly believe I owe it now only to myself to stay in shape but I owe it to all of you. See, you began believing in me way back in the 1970's and I want you all to continue to believe in me into my 70's, my 80's and beyond. So what's going to be your secret?Love,
