I KNOW IT ALL, BUT...

Sunday, 17 August 2008

", I know it all. I know everything there is to know about weight-loss. I have lots of your products and lots of other weight-loss products, too. I understand all about portions, fat grams and starches. I know how much water I should be drinking everyday and I know when I should be eating my meals. I also know how important it to work out. I've been a member at different gyms for years. I know I need to lose weight and I have the knowledge on how to do it. But what I don't have, , what I just can't seem to come up with is the willpower I need to lose this weight and how to stick with it!"

"What I don't have, , what I just can't seem to come up with is the WILLPOWER I need to lose this weight!"

Oh, that sounds like such a typical E-mail I might receive. So many people ask me just how do they get willpower? First of all, what is willpower, anyway? Well, it's the art of self-control. It's the power you have in any situation, really, to say yes or no!Let's say, for instance, you're having lunch with one of your girlfriends. You just had a nice healthy salad, dressing on the side. You've dutifully stayed away from the tempting freshly baked bread and creamy butter. But after completing your healthy lunch, your girlfriend suggests to you, "Hey, you wanna share a slice of New York Cheesecake?"Oh, oh. Now at first, you say to yourself, "I've been really good and had a healthy lunch. I could share a slice of cheesecake."

"Yes, I'm heading to that gym today for a great workout!"

If you give in and say "Yes" to your girlfriend, (and the cheesecake), then you're really lacking in the willpower department. But if you're strong and reply "No," then you do have willpower and you're using it, too! Another example. You know that you need to work out. You'd planned to get in your car, turn the key to the ignition, drive to the gym to get in your cardio and strength-training. You know how much better you'll feel after that workout, too. But if before you even head for the car, you say to yourself, "No, I don't think I'll go to the gym today" you're proving to yourself that you have no willpower. But, if you say to yourself, "Yes, I'm heading to that gym today for a great workout!" If you take that route, then, once again, you're using your willpower to get you to think more positive and to act on doing something more positive for your body! There ya' go!

Whether it's eating right or getting that body of yours moving, using your willpower can help you in ALL areas of your life.

Willpower is all about deciding to do what is best for you at that very moment. Whether it's eating right or getting that body of yours moving, using your willpower can help you in all areas of your life. Remember, you have the power to will what you want to will for you and your body! And as you begin learning to use your willpower more, like magic, your willpower will grow even stronger! And it'll get easier and easier to make better decisions about taking better care of you!So how will you use your willpower today? Please, use it by making healthy choices for your meals today and everyday. And use it to get that body of yours up and moving like you should! You've got the will to do it. You've got the power to do it. Now, put that willpower of yours to work for you!Love,
