Guest guest
I had the worst scare of my life last night. Well, so far. I was driving home, like I always do for the last 2 1/2 years. My mind was everywhere and nowhere ... I was in a hurry to get home ( chat yanno) and was thinking of the day, and the rest of the evening and well, you know how it goes. Somewhere, at some time, I took a wrong turn. I noticed it had gotten VERY dark. I mean DARK dark. The few homes I did pass didn't look familiar to me at all. I kept looking for the indian reservation I drive through to get home, I never saw it. I realized I was on the wrong road, had no idea what road I WAS on, how I'd gotten there, or even what town, if any, I was in or approaching. Finally I passed a highway sign that told me which highway I was on. I'd turned too soon and was on a loop. I knew this highway at some point intersected a highway that would take me home. After turning around in a VERY scary driveway I finally got turned around right, found my correct turnoff and headed safely home. Bear in mind I work in a densely wooded area. :::Adds GPS navigation system to her next car accessory list::: Ok that's my bonehead move of the year. Guest guest
> Somewhere, at some time, I took a wrong turn. Wow! Something like that wold freak me out. I hate driving in the dark, and on a dark, unlit road I would be panicky even if I *knew* where I was! I'm spoiled, living in urban settings all my life. Even that year in Florida, because it was a tourist area everything stayed lit up long into the night, even the back roads I used to take to get to my dad's house. > :::Adds GPS navigation system to her next car accessory list::: My son wants to invest in one for when he takes the car out. Locally it's not bad - most roads always lead into a street that's know - but his friends live scattered all over the state, and once he's brave enough to hit the turnpike and major highways to go to their houses he wants to make sure he gets there and back and he hates reading a regular paper map, even the book-form street atlases we have. I'm glad you got out safe!! Those GPS Systems are really cool and a lot more affordable now that they've been out awhile, I'd definitely look for one!!
