Guest guest
Sounds like you have a great plan of action. Definitely check the spin class. They make it look SO easy on Biggest Loser and it is SO hard. You definitely have to build up endurance doing it. I can sit and spin for a good amount of time although the tiny seat kills my mega butt! Standing and spinning is a whole nother ball game. WOW that is tough but it burns so MAJOR calories and makes the sweat pour. So my goal has been to get 5 minutes of spinning standing and sitting in each time I am at the gym. I would love to build up to 20 minutes. That would burn as many calories as running at a really fast pace. That would be wonderful! I have really long feet and that doesn’t help either as only the very front of my foot fits in the peddle. They should make the peddle cover adjustable in length too! Sent: Tuesday, December 09, 2008 6:53 PM ABrite@... Subject: Tuesday NSV and The Gym Plan Ok. So you all knew I was joking about only doing the gym tour for exercise yesterday. I did do the WATP video to round out the day. My co-partner at work goes to the same gym and so we are going to do some of the things together. She hasn't been going at all, so was actually excited to see I went up and joined. " Starting next week " she agreed to go to water aerobics with me on Tues/Thurs and Sat is to be determined. This will depend on if we are in the deep end or the shallow end though, because shallow = high impact for the water aerobics and not good on my body (back/knees). Deep end is nicer. I'm not waiting until next week to go, though. I'm gonna go tonight!! I'm also going to go check out a spin and step class and see if I can do them, or if I should forget about those for awhile. So. This is my plan this week: Tuesday - water aerobics Wednesday - check out the spin class Thursday - water aerobics Friday - spin, if I liked it - if not, women's fitness center Saturday - water aerobics, maybe check out the yoga class Sunday - day off or fitness ctr Monday - check out the step class After that, I'll check out the " Pump " and " Combat " classes. " Attack " was not recommended for now. Another co-worker goes to all the classes and she said attack is insanely intense. But, I might sit in and watch one and see, since that is her interpretation of the class. Then, I can set up a " final schedule " LOL - you know, what I will go to the gym for and what I will stay at home for. If " all else fails " they have water aerobics 5 nights a week and on Saturdays and the women's fitness center is open 7 days a week, or I can do the bike, treadmill and ellipticals and head to the weights. After I have checked out the classes, I will set up my consultation with the trainer and see where to go in the weight-room. There's a track too, so you don't have to walk/jog on the treadmill. When I go up there, I will ask how many laps are a mile (not hard to figure out on my own, though). Today's NSV: I stared down a " Reese's Whips " candy bar for 8 hrs at work. " Wonder how long it will last tonight? " I joked with my co-workers when I left for the day. LOL!! They said " are you taking it home " and I said " I'm sure not leaving it here " hahaha!! The issue isn't that I *cannot* have the candy bar. The issue is I need to eat it between hunger/fullness. And, all of the times I have " been hungry " today, I have opted to put food of better nutritional value into myself. So. If I reach hunger later and want it, I will eat it. OK. Hope you had a great Tuesday. I'll check in tomorrow, don't know if I will get back on the 'puter after swimming tonight. in WA 310/255/190 I've lost 67 inches from my body! Spin is not one of the classes they offer in the evening, so it would mean getting up and to the gym at 5 a.m. for a 5:30-6:30 class time. UGH!! Needless to say, I did *not* get there this morning. Don't know. I'll set the alarm again for Friday and see how that goes. If not, I'll have to settle on the stationary bikes on my own in the evening when I can get there. Guest guest
I would stick with the stationary bikes unless you are in really good shape and can easily jog for more than 5-10 minutes at a time. I did the spin bike for 10 minutes today as I told my self I was going to do this no matter what. I “ran” (standing up) for about 5 of those minutes on and off. After about 4 minutes on the bike I was POURING sweat!! Great workout but definitely have to build up stamina to do it. I would love to be able to do this for 20 minutes!! That is my goal by February.
