DEAR DIARY...

Tuesday, 05 August 2008

Did you keep a diary when you were younger? Or did you have a little notebook where you wrote down all of your private your thoughts and dreams? Most people don't keep either or them nowadays. Today, they just blog! But diaries are very important and one of the most important kinds of diaries for you to keep is a food diary. When I lost weight years ago, using one of the many stupid methods I tried in the past, I got very sick and almost lost my life. But on the rebound from those foolish days, I began writing down in a notebook what I ate for the entire day.

And at the end of the day, I would review in my notebook what I had eaten and look for ways where I could improve on my eating habits for the next day. And the next day, I'd repeat the process of chronicling everything I'd eaten. This process helped me retake my health. You can always think about what you ate on a particular day. I mean, that's easy. But writing it down isn't so easy, my friends. After I began creating a food diary for myself, it lead to my creating the Deal-A-Meal.In case some of your don't remember Deal-A-Meal, it was a weight-loss program I used to help keep myself on track. It was a wallet with color-coded cards representing all of the six major food groups. You started your day out with the cards on one side of the wallet and when you ate the correct portion size of a particular food, you would move the color-coded card for that food to the other side of the wallet. Deal-A-Meal really helped you keep track of your calories and portions.

Later on, I introduced the FoodMover which is the best food diary I have ever created. You'll find the FoodMover in the Clubhouse Store. With it, you close windows instead of moving cards, as we did with Deal-A-Meal. There are windows for all the foods you should be having from those six food groups and in the right portions, too. But the FoodMover also has windows to help remind you to get in the right amounts of exercise, vitamins, water and positive affirmations you should be getting for your body and mind everyday. If you're not getting the weight-loss results you want to see so badly, then you should begin some kind of food dairy today. It's a very eye-opening experience. And I say that because sometimes, at the end of the day, you may read your food diary and weep! And why?

Well, because you'll see just how much you've been eating everyday. Keeping a record, a diary of how much you're eating is all about accountability, everybody. I'm telling you, the more you pay attention to how much you're eating, the easier you can make the adjustments you need to make to lose weight! And I know, that's something you really want to do, right?So-o-o, do you have a diary or a notebook handy? It doesn't have to be anything fancy. Or do you have a FoodMover lying around? If so, then pick it up and start using it again.Love,
