Guest guest
THE RUSTLE OF THE WIND Sunday, 24 August 2008 Earlier this week, I had my weekly live Chat with all of my Clubhouse members. See, every Monday night, we get together for our Auditorium so I can speak with everyone and motivate them, in my own cute little way. LOL. And by the way, I want to welcome all of our NEW Clubhouse members who have joined us this month! My topic for our Chat last Monday was all about how to relax. You see, many people trying to lose weight start out my attacking their weight-loss! They don't take the time to grow into their new lifestyles. They just want it all...right away. And when you have that kind of a rushed attitude, you don't lose weight, really and you know that to be true. I'm telling you that you have to relax about your weight loss. You have to know that as long as you're doing the right things to lose the weight, it will happen. I'm telling you, you've got to relax and...it will! So, what is relaxation? Well, it's about being someplace and thinking about absolutely nothing. And I mean not thinking about work, your marriage, the kids, life's problems...absolutely nothing! Now most people just don't know how to relax so today I'm going to teach you how. I work hard every day and yes, I get stressed out too, just like you. Oh yes, my batteries run a little low sometimes and when it happens, I go to a special place to recharge...in my mind. Now this can be done anywhere but it's best to do it all alone in a nice environment for yourself.I like to sit on the floor with my legs crossed and with my hands resting on my knees. I sit up straight, close my eyes and when I do that, I picture myself on top of a lovely mountain with a beautiful view in front of me. I can see a river flowing down the side of a nearby mountain, a cascading and peaceful waterfall. (Just like I saw on one of our recent cruises to Alaska, it was so beautiful and calming.) On the mountain I'm sitting on, there are so many trees. Tall, majestic, hundred year-old trees standing guard all around me. As I sit there, I can hear as a gentle wind rustles through the leaves of those giant old trees. I inhale and exhale and I imagine that wind, so soothing as it gently blows across my face, neck and shoulders. As I sit there. I am thinking nothing but the most peaceful thoughts. In the quiet, my mind and body are being reenergized as I sit alone with my thoughts. After a while, I open my eyes and I have a feeling of peacefulness that's just hard to describe. I'm telling you, you'll have to do this for yourself. So, like I said in the beginning, relax about losing the weight. Don't be in a hurry to lose it and don't keep looking for the finish line...it's coming!Enjoy your day while you burn those calories and make your body fit. Rejoice in the fact that you're on a healthy road that's going to make your life better everyday. And when it looks like old-stress is headed your way, let's you and me go to the mountaintop again. We'll let the rustling of the wind and that cascading waterfall help us to relax, once again.Love, http://www.richardsimmons.com/j/index.php?option=com_dailymessage & Itemid=
