BEGINNING OF A NEW MONTH

*Remember to Watch on Letterman Tonight!*

I'm not kidding now...it's August 1st! But wait a minute, how did it get to be August so fast? Well, I guess it's true what they say...time flies! Yep, today we're entering the 8th month of the year. Did I say eight month already? Well, yes I did!Now, you know what I tell you to do on the first day of each new month, don't you? Oh come on, you know. I ask you to take an inventory of the month you just completed. So, how did July treat you? And how did you treat your body in July, huh?

Did you eat your three meals a day and did you plan those meals? And how many of the 31 days of July did you work out? Did you lose weight in July? Each month, I ask you to remember our Five-Pounds-A-Month Weight Loss Challenge. Did you meet the Challenge in July? Yes...no? Well, I want you to consider something and that is:If you've met the Challenge for the past seven months, then that would mean you have lost 35 pounds so far in 2008! And hey, that's a lot of weight!Were you nice to yourself and did you pamper yourself in July? I know that many of you are caretakers and that you love to take care of the ones you love. But are you making enough time to love yourself and take good care of you? Remember what I've always told you. And that is, if you feel good about yourself and recognize your own self-worth then amazing things can happen for you!

Now I know some of you have not been losing weight every single month. You just keep getting on and off that carousel of life and weight-loss. But you need to figure out why you keep doing that. You've got to be consistent with your weight loss efforts. If you want to have success in the next month coming up, that means you've got to begin with success in this month of August.And by the way, you know it's going to be hot all over the country this month. So you really need to carefully watch your water intake, okay?And if you haven't made plans to be successful this month, well today is the day to plan your success for August, on this first day of the month.It all begins with your looking at your calendar to make your plans. You have 31 days in front of you and I want you to not waste a moment of any one of those 31 days.

On that calendar, mark the days you're going to work out and the type of workouts you plan to do each day. And also for this month, I want you to plan on having more healthy salads for dinner. And plan not to eat too late in the evening, too. And if you're following a walking program, like I said earlier, it's hot. So plan those walks for the early morning or later in the evening after dusk.So...Happy August to all of you! Focus on success this month and boy, will you ever see the results of that success in September!Love,
