editor replies, has anyone officially sent a letter in as a responce?

Dear Ms. Page,

Mr. Watkins' writing is a LETTER TO THE EDITOR, which doesn't mean we

agree with what he says. ly, we often don't. But it's the policy of

this paper to offer space to our community members -- whether or not we

agree with them.

Perhaps you should write your own letter to the editor, explaining actual

facts and statistics. I think you'll find most readers are smart enough to

know the difference between someone's opinion and someone who has expert

knowledge about an issue.
