FIT!

Saturday, 15 November 2008

Beverly simply refused to get a new wardrobe. Following her difficult divorce, she'd gained 52 pounds. Bless her heart, she'd gone through so many emotions. And the really bad news is that she dealt with those emotions by eating. As a result, all the clothes in Beverly's closet had become too tight on her.

First in that category...her underwear. Those little satin bows on her panties looked way out of whack now. And the elastic in the waistband in them was breaking up because of all the stretching. And her bra didn't fit like it should anymore because she had gained so much weight in her chest.Oh! Her skirts were too tight. Her blouses were too tight. And the suits she wore to work could not be buttoned anymore. I guess you could say that Beverly's closet just didn't fit her anymore! One day, as she was walking down the street near her office, Beverly caught her reflection in a store window. She stood there a minute, taking a good look at herself from all angles. She felt liked she was in a jammed-pack can of Vienna sausages the way she was packed into her clothes. It was a reality check and a moment of reckoning for herself. On that very day after getting home, Beverly did some really serious thinking. She was over her unpleasant divorce so why was she still feeding that divorce? She made a list of foods that she used to eat and started planning her meals like she used to do before she'd gained those 52 pounds. She also built a 30-minute walk around her neighborhood into her daily schedule. To chart her progress, Beverly weighed herself weekly.

And within six months, not only had the numbers gone way down on her scale but Beverly noticed something else. Her bra fit. Her underwear fit. She really looked nice in her skirts and blouses. And when she put on one of her suits for work...the buttons all met on her jackets! Way to go, Beverly! On her walk to work one day, Beverly went by that same department store and eyed her reflection in its window again. And after having been on program for six months, she just could not believe her eyes. Not only did her wardrobe fit from head to toe. But she actually looked good again and she felt good, too! Beverly walked on to work feeling like a peacock. Proud of the hard work she'd done and hey, she'd earned that feeling! Why can't you be like Beverly? Hey, you can, you know! Go take a look at your reflection. Take an honest look at the way your clothes fit. Not satisfied with what and who you see? Well, like Beverly, it's time and you can do something about it! So why not start today on this Saturday. Get back to healthy grocery shopping and meal planning. Get back to doing your walks and your DVD workouts. And...get your wardrobe back.Get fit so those clothes of yours FIT again, too!Love,
