Guest guest
BACK TO THE AIRPORT I GO! Wednesday, 12 November 2008 Well, I'm going back up into the air again this morning. Gee, for someone who doesn't really adore flying a lot, I really do fly...a lot!Now let's see. So far this year, I've done The Today Show on NBC. I've done Good Morning America on ABC. And now comes CBS where I'll be making an appearance on their Early Show tomorrow. I sure am making the early morning TV show rounds, aren't I? The building from which CBS airs The Early Show used to be known as the General Motors Building. It's tall! On the building's lower concourse, there used to be a restaurant called the Auto Pub. And, (ahem), guess who used to work there, huh? Well...me!When I lived in New York, I used to take the subway to 5th Avenue, get off there and walk over to the restaurant. I took plenty of orders during their very busy lunch hour and I was a very popular waiter. And boy. were the tips ever good! And I did learn to save my money way back then, thank goodness. So there will be plenty of memories in my head while I'm at CBS tomorrow morning. Between the Early Show's 8 to 9:00AM hour, they'll be doing a retrospective on the 80's decade. And you know what that means, don't you? Well, it means Sweatin' To The Oldies, of course!I'm going to CBS to teach a little bit of a sweatin' class on the Early Show. And while I'm on, I'll be talking a little bit about our efforts to get PE as part of the core-curriculum back into our public schools. I'm really excited about seeing everyone at CBS. They're just a nice, friendly group of people. I know some of you live in the New York City area and I'm inviting you to come down to CBS and sweat with me tomorrow morning. The address for CBS is 767 5th Avenue. It's right there at the bottom of Central Park. Space will be limited so you should call in advance. Call (212) 497-6016 and ask for Gibson. She'll get you into the class. Remember, it's first come, first served so call right away! If you don't live in the New York City area and you're not planning a flight to New York today, then you can watch me on TV tomorrow morning. Promise?I have to tell you this. I am so blessed to still have the pep and energy I had when I began taping my Sweatin' series way back in the 80's. Oh, I can close my eyes and remember all the fun we had doing those videos, which are now out in DVD format. It makes me feel so good just about everyday when I read my E-mails and hear from all the people out there working out and sweatin' with us. They're still having fun with my Sweatin' DVDs and still losing weight using them, too! (Are you one of them?) Wow, who knew this series would become "evergreen" and still so popular after all these years? I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Time-Life for re-releasing these great workouts in DVD. I hope you're enjoying them as much as I enjoyed doing them for you.Now get ready, New York City. Here I come again!Love,
