Will this new product have an application for us? Most of have a nasal staph

infection and nothing I have tried has gotted rid of it.

Methicillin - resistant Staphylococcus aureus is very easy to kill.

I wouldn't use a chlorine dioxide, bleach or quaternary ammonium

disinfectant to save my life but, any of them shoul kill the

bacteria is you soak the hard, non-porous surface for 10 minutes or

more.

Vegetative bacteria (not in a spore or endospore state)are generally

easy to kill for disinfection claims. Pseudomonas are the toughest

vegetative bacteria to kill as listed on EPA label. TB is requires

a higher EPA disinfectant claim.

Two or three studies (one by Levy) have shown is there is no

antimicrobial resistance to both biocides and antibiotics at the

same time. Anything resistant to an antibiotics will get hammered

by a biocide. Anthing resistant to a biocide will get hammered by

an antibiotic. The whole notion of not using antimicrobial or

biocides because they lead to antimicrobial resistance was a

complete scientific flop - although well intended.

A few years ago, some knotheads at the CDC were actually using this

excuse as a way to let hospital not follow the OSHA blood borne

pathogen rule. The good folks at OSHA told the CDC to go pound

sand. I could name names and sling mud but, the folks who took part

in the charade should just go hide under the rocks with the rest of

the slime and vermin. Maybe the rash of post-operative, secondary

infections will leave with them.
