Rainbow Vacuum Concern

My vacuum has mold in the water reservoir. I went out of town for

work and my kids left the vacuum sitting on top of the reservoir

with water in it. I didn't know until I took it apart to clean in

it.

It made me throw-up and pretty tight in my chest and my throat hurts

like I have been crying for hours. I have no idea what type of mold

it was but it was nasty!

My question is this, can I salvage the vacuum? I bought it 8 or 9

years ago and it cost me over $1000. I'm afraid there are mold

spores on the inside of the filter and motor area...I do not want to

turn it on for fear of putting that crap in the air.

Do I throw it in the dumpster or what? I cannot believe the

reaction I just had; that has never happened to me before, needless

to say, that was a bit scary.

I appreciate your knowledge here group; although I think I may know

the answer...toss it, start over and buy a new one, but I have been

wrong before, perhaps you can tell me how to salvage it.

Thanks,

J.

I looked at these vacuum cleaners and listened to many of their

advertisements, but I will have to admit the more I thought about

them and what could grow in these tanks, no matter how good it

looked and seemed to work I just said no way.

This is the type of thing that many consumers are not aware of. I

think most would agree, especially if you are sensitive to mold, I

would not take the chance of using this type of vacuum. It's bad

enough even using the ones without water, you are stirring up

everything and I think most individuals react either just after or

during not realizing the cause.

My personal opinion, I would not take the chance, get rid of it. I

think you just proved that to yourself.
