BE WARE OF VONAGE PHONE SERVICE

Attention Potential Vonage Customers

PLEASE SEND TO EVERYONE ON YOUR MAILING LIST

On September 04, 2000 I contacted Vonage about using their

services. When asked which ISP I used I told them Direcway Internet

by Satellite. They took my information and sent me a router which I

received approximately 5 days later. They charged me $40.84 and

used my credit card for payment. When the router arrived I hooked

it up as per instructions and could not get on line. I disconnected

everything and re-installed the router and again could not get on

line. I called Direcway Internet by Satellite and they told me they

are not compatible with Vonage. I called Vonage and they told me

they are not compatible with Direcway Internet by Satellite. The

lady at Vonage told me I was not the first person she had had to

refund today(who uses Direcway Internet by Satellite) and could not

use Vonage. The lady was very nice and said I would be receiving a

credit on my account by Thursday September 16, 2002 and at the

latest Monday, September 20, 2005. She also sent me a RA# but no

Shipping Slip. On the morning of Friday, September 17, 2002 I

checked my bank balance as is my practice each morning. To my shock

and amazement I found Vonage had deducted another $41.19 from my

account. That is a total of $82.03 for the month of September for a

service I cannot use. I URGE EVERYONE TO BE VERY CAREFUL OF ANY

DEALINGS WITH VONAGE. I called Vonage this afternoon and was told

the $41.19 was deducted for the price of the router until it is

returned. I explained to the man () that I did not receive a

Shipping Slip and they better credit my account right away and he

hung up on me and I have not been able to get them to answer the

phone since that time. As you can see I was not informed in the

beginning my ISP is not compatible with Vonage, they knew it and

still sold me their service and are still taking money from my

account. I have notified my bank of this issue and now I want to

notify the un-suspecting public. If you choose to deal with vonage

please do so at your own risk. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Please pass

this on to any and all on your email list and any newsgroups or

or any other way to distribute it. We must protect

each other.
