Salisbury Family Moves Into House Infested With Mold

By CAROLYN SUMA -- WMDT 9/28/2005

" All up in here, on the floor boards. "

Seagroves is describing the mold he says has taken over his

home.

" Anything that's black. "

He says he was sold the home infested with mold with a promise it

would all get cleaned up. The man who sold it to him says he " paid a

subcontractor to take care of the mold. The company gave him a

written confirmation that they'd take care of it. "

But Seagroves says that never happened.

" They came, sprayed some chemicals on the mold, killed some of it

but not all of it. Of course, it grew back. "

Seagroves says he later learned that the company hired to get rid of

the mold is not licensed to do so. He ultimately arranged for his

home to be tested by a mold remediation company.

" This told us the mold in our air was too numerous to count. "

A real concern for Seagroves and his wife who live there with their

four young children.

The Environmental Protection Agency says mold has the potential to

cause health problems.

" From birth defects to asthma to mental retardation. "

Seagroves says he can't afford the $20,000 dollars needed to get rid

of the mold.

The man who sold him his home says " he did what he was supposed to

do. "

Next week, Carolyn will take a closer look at what you need to know

if you're concerned with mold inside your home.

Pizzaguy, I don't know exactly who said it anymore than you do. I

just posted the article with a link. They are in land and here

is the phone number if you would like to contact the reporter and

she may be able to give you some answers. If you go to the link that

I provided you will also find email addresses and snailmail address.

This is the first that I have heard this also.
