Dear friends,

Sub:

1) Screening of Documentaries on 14th June at Russian Cultural Center

2) A NATIONAL DEBATE ON LAW, MORALITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS WITH SPECIAL

REFERENCE TO ITP ACT AND SECTION 377 OF IPC on 15th June

We would like to invite you to the screening of three documentaries at the

Russian cultural center, Thiruvananthapuram on 14h June at 5.30 p.m.The

documentaries are:

1. A 20 minute documentary on " Police Torture on Sex workers of Kerala "

directed by a Nalini Jameela, a sex worker activist from Kerala. (Nalini

had been trained in video making in Thailand and India through a support

from Global Alliance Against Traffic in Women, Bangkok. Nalini's first

documentary was screened in various Conferences and festivals of Sex

workers and Anti-trafficking associations held in Bangkok, Montreal, and

Sanfransisco and at a special meeting at the Gay Men's Health Crisis, Newyork).

2. A 50 minute documentary film " Many People, Many Desires " directed by

Jayashree produced by SANGAMA. This film documents the voices of sexuality

minorities from different class/gender/cultural backgrounds in Bangalore

and the sexuality minorities' struggles in Bangalore.

3) On Durbar's activities and movement-DM SC Kolkota

We are also organizing a national debate on " Law, Morality and Human

Rights with special reference to ITP Act and section 377 of IPC " on 15th

June, 2004 at Senate Chamber University of Kerala.This program is jointly

organized by the department of Law, University of Kerala; Foundation for

Integrated Research in Mental Health (FIRM) and the Rainbow Planet.

Speakers and presentations include: Adv.Sebastian (M.P),

Punnoose, IPS (Addl.DGP) Mina Seshu (SANGRAM, Maharashtra), Nandinee

Bandyopadhyay (Kolkotta), K.Padmakumar, IPS (Deputy Inspector General of

Police, Training) E.Manohar (Sangama, Bangalore).

We would like to invite you to these programs.
