Best case they send you a letter, thank you for your concern but they only attend to their people. I am from Oklahoma but moved to Dallas in '67 and I am registered to vote there. I have never received acknowledgement but one of the Texas senators, kay bailey hutchinson EVER! My congressman always sent me letters. I grew up in a 100% democrat area and voted democrat unti turned me to voting Republican then after Bush's first term, he turned me back into voting for people who care about people and not big business. Let me correct that as ALL politicians cater to big business but some say they care about people, but who ever knows. We only have two choices and they will tell us anything to get out votes. I try not to look at any issue from a party perspective. One thing I learned from working 30 years at Procter & Gamble is that always follow the money if you want to know what they really think. I watched an interview the other night with Gerald Ford and he said in his 11 years of running for congress then senate, he only spent $10,000 nine times and $20,000 twice. He even said that money is buying politicians votes. I was proud to hear an ex-president actually admit to the truth. I must admit that before I got ill, I had little concern for ill and people but I am 58 now and I have come to realize the truly important things in life, like health and family for starters. I believe we should continue to take advantage of this opportunity which has tragically come about because of the hurricane but if you look at how much lobbying the AIDS people did to no avail, I am not holding my breath. Of course the government always made it seem that gays were the only ones with AIDS and most of the right didn't care if they had AIDS or not. Most of christian friends feel like AIDS is God's punishment anyway. I do not believe that for a second.
