Can I spray white vinegar to kill the mold, and not kill the perennials? Is moss a bad thing? Maybe I can use a dilute solution of borax. Guest guest
, No, moss is not a bad thing. It's just something else that I used the vinegar on to test it. It killed it and also seemed to work as a pretty good weed killer. The best time to spray any type of weed killer is before noon time. The earlier the better. If you are going to spray these logs, you would want to coat them good enough to where you get to the roots of the fungi. It may be a day or two before you notice whether it worked or not. It's not like bleach to where it just turns it white. As far as your perennials, just cover them so that you don't cause any harm. I have sprayed bigger bushes with the vinegar and it didn't seem to have harmed them much at all, if any. I never had to give it a second treatment anywhere that I had sprayed the mold, but I can't say just one shot will do it, it all depends on the amount of growth, where it is, etc. One shot seemed to have worked for me. I would also recommend a couple of days of dry weather. Guest guest
All the geezers around here use vinegar instead of round up, have forever- it is great for where you don't want things to grow-like paths. Moss would be a sign of moisture and humidity- good for mold groths. > > > > I have white mold growing on some elm logs out back, and the stink is all over the yard > and nieghborhood- I suspect from the silo torn down years ago. Guest guest
Thanks for the info. Do you use vinegar straight, or dilute it? > > > So two > > > years ago I started experimenting with it outdoors on all types > of > > > rotting debry and live growth, whether it was mold, mildew, > moss, > > > etc. I used it on.
